ISLAMABAD: Syed Jamaat Ali Shah, former commissioner of Pakistan Commission of Indus Water, whose name was put on the Exit Control List after it was established that he had helped and facilitated India in building a hydropower project on Pakistan’s Indus River, inflicting huge damage to the country’s water interests, has escaped to Canada.

Great stuff from our Interior Ministry … He was on ECL and still he managed to escape to Canada. Malik sahab now says that we will bring him back through Interpol. This man is an out-and-out scoundrel
I just wish Shah is brought back to Pakistan and kept without a drop of water till he departs for hell!!!
Too bad Jamat Ali Shah isn’t a baloch, otherwise it would be the perfect case of abuse of baloch rights by the state of Pakistan aka punjab by trying to “disturb” the brave Jamat Ali Shah.
If this news is correct we are a living in a changed pakistan.
People were taking kickbacks all along, even in nawaz's golden era,
but at least now they are scared and running away.
Finally its not ok in pakistan to take kick-backs.
According to the report, Military Intelligence (MI) Directorate had informed the government on June 6, 2005 that India was planning to construct the Nimoo-Bazgo hydroelectric project, which would be completed by 2010. The report also divulged that Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) further informed the government on July 25 2005 that the Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has visited Leh, Kargil and Siachen Glacier on June 11, 2005 and laid the foundation stone of Nimoo-Bazgo and Chutak hydroelectric power plants. Similarly, the ISI on September 7, 2005 shared information about the visit of the Indian prime minister to Siachen and Kargil.
I wonder which civilian party was ruling pakistan in 2005…Bloody civilians I tell you
When Indians started constructing dams on Pakistani rivers, there were a lot of noises. Why did the government not take them seriously? How did Syed Jamaat Ali Shah remain the commissioner of IRSA for so long (spanning two govts)?
You india's fear of water shortage is much bigger then ours, being more organized they are going to do what ever it takes to take our water.
I mean its easy to talk technology, fire one missile here and there, but to find a solution for a population as big as India and implementing it not child's play.
Im sure in a few year, Shah sahib's children would be complaining about their recent disastrous visit to Pakistan destroyed by load shedding and bad-tameez population.
i mean....canada, usa and UK.......are harboring terrorists of Pakistan............ we need to send truckloads of molvies and talibans to these countries and punish them for harboring our terrorists.

Mush League with the help of MQM and MMA
Exactly! Mushy was/is part of the khaki establishment, why blame civilians as the OP and others doing in this thread? What were the khakis doing from 2005-2008 before PPP for preventing the indian indus dam?I thought army is a super-patriot-defender-cum-saviour , why didnt they take any action to thwart the "enemy" designs from 2005-2008?
