Mr. Hafizur Rehman is a senior retired government officer and a freelance journalist writing weekly articles in different English dailies. He mostly touches daily life matters and his comments are mostly as if from a common street man. In his recent article he mentions an often read story that knowing with how much speed Jam Sadiq Ali was allotting plots in Karachi late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto once asked Jam that look please do not sell the Mazar of Quaid e Azam. This story has in the past been read at many places. Mr. Hafizur Rehman should know that Jam Sadiq could not sell the Mazar of Quaid and even though had Buutto’s rule remained for further next 20 years Jam would never had dared to think of it. But be sure under the 12 billion reserves v/s privatization scheme the present rulers would not hesitate and would sell it on its turn under some modern enlightenment to meet the liquidity needs of Umrah tours, bullet proof cars expenses if not allot the open garden of Mazar as a housing colony. Quaid is dead. He only needs two and a half yard space. So big and vast garden area is of no use to Quaid and those un-enlighted who come to pay their tribunes to Quaid. This open space on three sides of Mazar can be well used as a housing colony for some retired Generals as presence of these houses would act as foul proof security from land mafia.
