What stuff are u getting or did you get in your Jahez?

I am getting:

  1. Bed room set (minus the wardrobe)
  2. TV and DVD player and TV trolley
  3. A/C
  4. Bed sheets
  5. Towels
  6. Curtains
  7. Ironing stand :)
  8. 2 fancy chairs
  9. Dinner set, tea set, cutlery set
  10. Basic kitchen machinery
  11. Bathroom set
  12. And my clothes and other personal stuff

By the way, I will be leaving it all in Lahore :( and buying all new stuff with my hubby after the shadi. yay!!!

Lol i find this jahez business funny.. esp wen people give bedroom and bathroom sets..

Im not getting any furnture cos firstly me and my fiance declined, secondly wer getting a new bedroom fitted so theres no need!

Little bits and bobs yeh.. mum mentioned bedsheets which me and my fiance again found really funny. Now i find it very normal and lookin forward to receiving them :D Apparantly mum says we also have to get a toaster,kettle, microwave, etc.. again im not sure why cos theyv got all that.
Oh and how can I forget most popular item.. a dinner set :D

hmmm since my fiance recently moved to a furnished apartment.. there was no need to get the bedroom bathroom set..

i stil got new bedroom lamps.. some home stuff like candles frames crockery cutlery.. bedsheets quilt ..juicer.. sandwich maker.. he has toaster and microwave already.

other than these items.. his family stuff.. his stuff... my stuff..

not much compared to pple who give land car furniture..

oh yes the biggest purchase, fiance said nothing to get but a TV!! lol.. so i just recently bought a 52 inch tv :P

Sahar02 I will be using my stuff when I go back on vacations which will be twice a year! My inlaws are totally against taking jahez but since I don't like asking for anything in case it is not provided, my parents convinced them that we will only give some things that are personal. The kitchen items will be packed and left there IA when hubby and I will buy a home there, it will come in handy then :)

back in pakistan my female relatives take stuff like a dinner set and bed sets and maybe a few pieces of bedroom furniture and some kitchen stuff but over here we don't. its usually just a few things for their bedroom like a nice bed set or lil accessories but nothing big

Well that is true. I guess I am thinking about the back in the day give up all your cows and everything you have saved as jahez lol.

I am getting a bedroom set, 3bedsheets with duvet cover sets, and 2 sets of towels...this all will be left behind in pakistan :(

here for the US...we are getting a new house (in two weeks :D inshallah) n will be getting everything new for it :)

Yup :) n to top of all the stress...he decided to go house hunting and we finalized our house abt two weeks ago...its under const. right now n will be completed before we leave for the wedding.
