Reality TV star Jade Goody has died at the age of 27.
She died at home with her family in Upshire, Essex, in the early hours of Sunday after a high-profile battle with cervical cancer.
"The whole country has admired her determination to provide a bright future for her children.
“She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her and her family can be extremely proud of the work she has done to raise awareness of cervical cancer, which will benefit thousands of women across the UK.”
Goody shot to fame after being a contestant in the third series of Big Brother in 2002 and was taking part in a version of the show in India last year when she was told of her illness.
Feel so bad for her sons. Admire her a lot for sorting out their education so they will have the chance to make something of themselves. Was never her biggest fan but she showed a lot of courage, more than I ever could have and my opinion of her has changed. To be told ur going to be dead in a few weeks or months at most than setting out to try and earn as much money as possible even tho ur in pain so ur young kids will be taken care of takes a lot of guts. There is a lot of nasty stuff floating around about her (especially Digital Spy Showbiz forum), I don't know how people can be so cruel :(
In fact, she did it on purpose... she really cashed in on all the publicity... but i would do the same if i was in her position... as a mother, if you know you are leaving the world, you want to make sure you're children have financial security...
Hey they were not doing it for free , she got her share out of it .

Ali i know they werent doing it for free, and i understand why she did it too but normal people who are fighting for their lives dont get anything like what she got not even for their children.
and yes there is more awareness of cervical cancer but in general cancer is a known disease and millions of people die of it but why should she be allowed all that publicity when the people who really suffer arent?

I have been following Jade's updates for weeks and it was so aching to see her pass away on Mother's Day, a day which brings families together to celebrate how much we love our Mums. At least she is out of pain now.
Whatever her past was or mistakes she might have made - no one deserves the horrific punishment cancer gives! Its the worst way to die, as it is slow and cruel. I have seen it and it is so terribly aching to witness.
But Jade was such a brave woman and she should be remembered for facing her cancer battle so positively. She has done what any Mother would have done for her kids - and I am proud of whats she achieved and planned for her children's future in her last few weeks.
I hope her children don't become the media focus now.
i don't understand consumers of 'media' who feel some sort of compassion for her. Before all this 'raising awareness' crap what did she do?, NOTHING, she was famous for nothing. I could understand if she had done a great deal of things. Remember when Jane Tomlinson died, NO?, because you haven't heard of her even though that woman devoted her life to fighting cancer and raising awareness.
Her kids are in a fine predicament, they're gonna live off 'mummy's' inheritance for the rest of their lifes, they will be followed round by the media and will turn into Jade's equvailant. Getting money thrown in their faces for nothing. They wont need a job, wont have to worry about exams, wont have to fork out for bills. I'm envious of these kids.
The people in this country love a right old sob story, I personally know people who have died from cancer, nobody should have to go through that. But yet they do, there's people like Lance Armstrong and Jane tomlinson who have done so much for cancer research but yet they're soon forgotton in a heartbeat. People will still be talking about Jade for years to come.
The fact that people like Gordon Brown feel as if they have to pay tributes shows how messed up this country us, because if he didn't pay his tributes there would of been an army of frigging obease middle aged women with nothing better to do then to ring up and complain while waiting for the next scandal that one of the papers create to involve themselves in.

Wow how did Jade Goody deal with the fact that she was gonna die, and then think of it being near mother's day? She must have been going through hell.
May she rest in peace. She did enough to raise awareness, she did enough to secure her kids future. She did enough as a person in whatever little time she had left.
She might have been a racist before, but she did take a full U turn and bring the positive in her. She will always be remembered for her good deed - the humane side of her.
