jacket style dresses

oh wow i like this jacket suit. Is the jacket made from velvet in the pic i am not sure. But i definitely like the combination with a dress.

Re: jacket style dresses

^ definitely velvet

Re: jacket style dresses

is it just me or the jacket style really doesnt flatter the figure unless u choose the material really really carefully and have it stitched really really nice and like in queen darts and all... otherwise it falls straight and u look like ... yea daler mehendi.. .

Re: jacket style dresses

^ no just you! it has to be well-fitted, for sure, like most clothes :)

daler mehdi? LOL

Re: jacket style dresses

^ Its beautiful but I would have gone a tad less on the kaam strips in the front. But thats just me...I dont like a lot of bold kaam on my clothes. I like very delicate and nazuk kaam.

Re: jacket style dresses

i agree! also i wouldn't have it buttoned all the way up- its not very flattering.

Re: jacket style dresses

^ Very true. This would have been amazing if she wore a short, cream colored, plain shirt and pants under it and the jacket was open.

Also, I do have to say she did well by not wearing any bold jewelry with this piece. A common mistake among our desies...they load on the jewelry even if the outfit is full of kaam.

Re: jacket style dresses

ahh so u have to be careful with jacket style.. unless of course u have assets that you mostly wanna cover....

Re: jacket style dresses

so i got a front-open jamavar jacket-style outfit made. its a rich forest green with a dull gold motif, and it has fuschia piping as an accent. not colors i would normally wear but it looks good! i had it made with capris.
also, i discovered you don't carry dupatta's with this style.
