also, should the whole jacket have embroidery? or would it look classy with front panels embroidered and the back made of plain cloth? i think plain black would look classy

Not whole like everything totally covered embroidery
You can do plain back, or if you want keep the border running to the back edge as well and along the back neckline, and a few motifs splashed around
Re: jacket style dresses
PF, you've got the figure to pull them off, so i'm sure they look great on you! :)
rockon, i want that same jacket made too! i think i'd keep the borders heavy and sprinkle little bits and bobs all over the front and back. ribbon could be chiffon or even velvet.
SGC if we're talking abt the same ivory front-open "kameez", then def get slim capri's with it! Dhoti pajama's, kharra pajama's are all nice if u wear a short kameez with long slits.
very nice, miami!!! is it front open?
thanks so much!!
I LOVE this outfit of yours, I can't believe you edited out your face :p You were looking so nice in it.
My mil has a somewhat similar outfit if you saw those anniv pics. When she wore it, it looked sooo graceful. It was black with same colored stones and beadwork on it, and a high collar and black pants.
thanks so much shay =p !! , yes i did see the pictures!!
it looks just like my outfit.
thanks midnight eyes...will post pics once the outfit is done..altho i think a velvet bow will "shout" if i get it dyed in the shade of the coat - my coat will be midnight blue or candy pink (or maybe both if i can manage 2 outfits in my budget!!) ...will either get it in chiffon or rice ka*****...
thanks for ur replies ppl..very very helpful!! just hope the outfit turns out great!

ah, see, i was thinking of getting it made in ivory or champagne and i dont know why thought you'd be doing a lighter color too, hence the velvet suggestion. a darker velvet bow would yeah, be a bit too much. chiffon is good!
Re: jacket style dresses
jacket style dresses remind me of dalair mehndi :D
Re: jacket style dresses
^ lol ..i dnt realy lyk jacket style dresses
me either....maybe its one of those things that looks better in person than in pictures?
Re: jacket style dresses
i think they make a person look longer, more svelte, more slender and more fierce like they have a presence
Re: jacket style dresses
It depends on how you carry off these jacket outfits. It can look real tacky if not worn and accessorized the right way but real fab otherwise.
Re: jacket style dresses
you dont have a dupatta with a jacket, right?
Re: jacket style dresses
sgc- i dont think there are rules to it. its fashion! do what you like.
Re: jacket style dresses
I would get a dupatta with the jacket.. but keep it on the arms.
