Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
^ But that would keep people from stumbling in accidentally. :D
The stuff was actually quite nice, but the customer service was not good.

Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
Shaza,
So which one is the original? any hints?
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
The real one is in the opposite buiding of jabeens, across the street you can see the name from the main road. ( previosly they all wrer doing business together under the same name, some where in Saddar now they have split , the 2 are in the same building opp jabeen and the 3rd on in the same line of jabeens
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
I think the main one is much bigger and more obvious. You'll know you're in the right one.
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
^ The owner of the small shop across the street from the big one told us there was no connection. It was just him and I assume his son. Really pretty stuff. But it was like he didn't want to sell anything. And the service was really slow and not friendly.
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
could we see ur outfit?? plz n thnku :)
I'll probably post my pic after my wedding. Don't wanna post the dress before I even wear it, hehe.
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
@ somegroovychick
Does Jabeens really go down that much in price for bargaining??
And what about the others rhimjim..how much should you expect them to go down in rupees?
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
^ not too much but it depends on the outfit you're choosing. karachi is NOT cheap these days- everything is pricier from fabric to kaam- so if you are going for a bridal, they might know some money off, but not a lot. this is true of everywhere in karachi now. and if its a bridal, would you rather they cut cost, be resentful about it and then do a sloppy job? i know people who've had kaam reduced on their outfits by the karigars once they had time to think about it and realised, agreement or not, that it would not be a fair deal for them. if you don't live in karachi, you likely won't discover this modification till its time to pick up/receive your outfit and by then it might be too late to do anything about it.
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
what are the average price range at jabeens or plk? and at shakeelz?
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
Formals seemed to be 35+ at Jabeens. They can probably be edited tho.

and what aboout bridal? if we provide our own fabric.
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
Formals at Shakeelz start around 15,000 (this is after bargaining) Formals at Jabeens start around 20-25,000 I think ... that's the cheapest we saw Formals that are on sale at Zardozi start around 12K... the regular ones start at 20-25K
I wrote about pricing for a whole bunch of stores if you want to check it out on my blog :)
i cant find pricing :(
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
jabeen's will not have a catalogue of previously designed dresses but they will have lots of already designed samples there for you to see and try on. our experience there was fantastic too. my sil was able to try on different joras until the found the one she liked, then they took her measurements on the spot and we were able to get down to the business of bargaining.
Do you mind sharing how much u paid for ur dress and ur sil or could you give and idea of the price range for a bridal at jabeens?
which dresses did u get?
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
I got Both my wedding and Valima outfits from Rhimjhim. absolutely satisfying work and excellent experience.. but yes there is major space for bargaining.. prices have sky rocketed tremendously. I got married a yr and half back and ordered 8 mths before that- its cheaper in advance and they had cost me between 90- 120k . I got My orders taken care of by a guy called Ismail there.
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi

i paid 16,000 for the churidar i had made for the mehendi, 32,000 for the lehenga i had made for the shaadi, and my sil's outfit was 1.5 lakh.
they were all beautifully worked, in silks, jamavars and chiffons.
both of my shirts were long and front open with chiffon dupattas with basic chhan and piping. most of the kaam was on the actual shirt itself.
my sil's lehenga was also pure silk jamavar with heavy embroidery.
they had all three outfits hanging in their store. we liked them so we ordered them too.
Re: Jabeens - RimJhim - Shakeelz - Zardozi
Just a little tip for my experience! My mom went to Pakistan a couple months back and brought my bridal dress from Shakeelz. They have some really nice stuff. I wanted something white/ivory with silver. So she got that custom made from Shakeelz by taking soem ideas from one of their bridal lehengas. Anyway, so when the lehenga was done - it was amazing and everything was great. So he packed it for my mom into a small package similar to how they'd pack if they're couriering internationally. When it came here, and she opened it for me to see - well, it was lovely, but it had a few tiny pink spots on it. I was so sad! We couldn't figure out how that happened - one thing I noticed...he used pink zip on a white lehenga. I dunno how professional designers can do soemthing like this. So maybe the colour came off of that. Or maybe, as the dry cleaners suggested, could also be from ball point pens. Even the dry cleaning can't get it off.
It makes me really sad...because I don't want a new one. The good thing is, that it's scattered and isn't as noticeable...so if I'm walking aroudn and such, it won't be obvious. Plus I doubt peopel will even notice it. But it is a whiteish dress...so it still makes me nervous as to what if someone does notice.
Anyway, moral of the story - make sure you check everything when the dress is ready. Even the zipper colour. And also make sure you are physically present when they're packing it for you. Because maybe it is ball point and happened when they were packing it. Because when they showe dit to my mom before packing - it was perfect.
for spots u can use lilltle talcum powder it wll hide those not sure it works for u but it helps :)
