J Jayalalitha and her party loses, resigns

Indians have a habit of changing government in every election. They teach their politicians a lesson every election…

CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary and Chief Minister J Jayalalitha quit on Thursday evening along with her cabinet, admitting that her party had been defeated in the May 8 assembly elections.

Jayalalitha, who had spent Wednesday in her Sirudavoor residence, about 50 km from the city, returned here in the afternoon as it became clear that there was no way that the AIADMK and its allies could cobble a majority in the 234-member house.

Of the results declared, the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) got 161 and the AIADMK 68. A party needs at least 118 seats to form government.

this has been the trend in tamil nadu....people over there keep changing the governments alternatively between AIADMK and DMK. it's good also by the way.

One party gets a change to earn and the other gets a change to spend what they earned when they were in power :).
