Re: It’s nice to hear good things said about India.
it looks very simplictic to transfer land just because 51 % voted .
atleast 2/3 of both community should agree.

First let us all agree on the principle of the referendum before going into details on what constitutes the majority. Land transfer and all matters become talking points once we have a partner in peace, meaning India..Right now we have no partner. Some fair Indians have indeed agreed to the referendum principle (I do hope you are one of them), whereas the majority has not.
I can only imagine the type of lynching that would occur if an Indian PM agrees to a referendum. But that is not to say that a great visionary will not arise.
If you think the status quo will continue then I can assure you that the view does not take the demographic realities of the land into account.
In all sincerity, I do believe that this is the singular roadblock towards full fledged normalization between the two nations. So no hatred for India here, just a reminder that a great nation has to do the right thing. Now the ball is in India’s court.
Re: It's nice to hear good things said about India.
what's with this empty baseless and endless arguement about Kashmir? Hasn't it become quite obvious that whenever Pres.Musharaf promises a crackdown on camps, the attacks go down. And after some time it comes back up, until somebody from India and US make a statement calling for 'Pakistan needs to do more'...then he makes another statement and the cycle continues.
Fortunately things seem to have gotten a bit better lately even though there is the occasional attack.
It is even more clear now that the Kashmiri residents, regardless of their religion, prefer to be Indian. And if anyone comes up with a "in that case why can't you do a referendum" just tell them a. it's none of your beeswax and b. sure, if you do a referendum in all your provinces, we'll consider one in Kashmir.
Re: It’s nice to hear good things said about India.
Where do you read that India had also to vacate Kashmir as a prior condition to referendum?
Re India took Kargil…it is a strategic issue. What is wrong in that? How come did Pakistan understand it after 33 years of annexation of Kargil by India?
If say today, Pakistan vacates Azad Kashmir, you think India will NOT move in and let Azad Kashmir stay on it’s own………..
It is not a question of today……in fact on this pretext Pakistan did not vacate the occupied territory of Kashmir (as a prior condition to refrendum). Why you blame India for that?
