There is still quite a while before I get married (2years), but my mum is making me choose my lenghas now because I am getting them made by my aunt who is awesome at kadhai, she’s like the bestest in the world and I don’t like anything else since I’ve seen hers. (I’ll probably put the pics up of the clothes she has made me once i figure out how to :D) Except she is a bit slow, but it’s totally worth it in the end, because they are just so gorgeous.
Back to the dillemma - well my family, being big and opinionated, want to decide what I wear. My mum has put the condition of me wearing a red lengha on the baraat, which I will do, and I am considering that to be a darkish red and dark/mehndi green lengha. Then they want me to wear a sari for my walima (which is the problem) I look HORRID in a sari. I look nice in lenghas, dresses, anarkalis, gararas…and so on. (lol) Just not sari’s. Everybody is being a complete pain in the butt about this sari thing, especially the aunt that will be making these clothes - what if when my clothes are completed I find a sari instead of a lengha?
What can I do to get everybody to just stop and let me decide my own clothes?!
Re: It's my family's wedding now :(
Perhaps point out that saris you can wear at any age and time, and you will have plenty of opportunities to wear them later. But heavy lenghas/ghararas/shararas are usually specific to brides, and you would like to wear those while you can, and as much as you can.
