That would be the ideal situation, but sadly that’s not always the case. Once saw an episode on the Dr. Phil show based on this topic. And there were several moms on the show that though their daughters were ugly…and would push them to be friends with attractive girls…in the hopes that it would boost their daugther’s social life/popularity. It’s sad.
I've seen what RV and Iyla have described quite a few times.. It's naive to think no parent will ever treat a child differently because of his/her looks (in our culture more specifically colour) :(
I was a very ugly baby (apparently) - until I hit 6 months, mainly due to mal-nutrition. I think this may have hindered my bond with my mother esp as she didn't want feed me- however, I am much cuter than my bro now, who was gorgeous as a baby and she never put him down. HA WHO HAS THE LAST LAUGH NOW!
