This one time Dad’s friend came to visit us at home and asked us “so did you enjaaye (enjoy) there?” We couldn’t get what the heck he was talking about and asked him to repeat like 3 times and he was embarrassed. Then dad stepped in and said he’s asking if you guys enjoyed it, and we were like oh yeahhhh
My phoopho lives in England she has British accent when she speaks English words while talking to us in Punjabi. This one time she asked us “Tou aap logon ko HOLIDAYS (in British accent) chal rahi hain”…and I couldn’t get what the heck she was talking about. On the third time, she said aap logon ki CHUTTIYAN chal rahi hain?
By the way, holidays is pronounced as HAALIDAYS in American English
