I know it’s long, but please do read atleast the bolded lines, because it took me quite a while to type this up.
I was reading a book called “Idiot’s Guide to Islam”, and it was discussing the signs of Qiyamat described by the Prophet (PBUH) and Allah (SWT) (keep in mind, these are just a few of the many signs). After reading this, I could not even go to sleep that night because I just kept thinking about how many of these signs had already shown up in the world today. And yes, I do admit, I am scared. 
- The Muslim world will be vanquished and broken up into many competing nations, and the practices of Islam will be increasingly difficult for true believers. (Think about how difficult it is to be a true and absolute Muslim growing up in the western culture.)
- Abundant riches will be discovered under the Euphrates River in Iraq, and people will fight over them, causing much death and destruction. (Scary, isn’t it? I think it’s safe to assume that this line is referring to oil found in that region, and how there is a war between USA and Iraq.)
- Children will no longer obey their parents. (Hah, it was actually a really big thing if a kid got in an argument with an elder back then. Look what the world has come to now. I, myself, constantly have mini-fights with my parents )
- Poor nations will compete with eachother to build tall buildings in their cities. (Projects pending; Governments of poor countries are using the money to make buidings, rather than feed the poor.)
- It will be hard to tell men and women apart. (The recent occurence of the woman, Dr. Amina, leading prayers in New York, as well as the Egyptian woman who gave the Azaan WITHOUT the hijaab on.)
- Women will outnumber men. (As a result of all the destruction from the war, the population of men will decrease from casualties in the war.)
- Religious knowledge will decrease dramatically. (I, being part of the muslim youth/new generation, know for a fact that there is an enormous number of kids out there who simply don’t know much about their own religion. The other day I was in classWealth will be widespread, and corruption will be rampa and the teacher was asking this other Muslim girl in my class about Islam. He asked which way we faced when praying. And she DID NOT know the answer. Keep in mind, this girl is in highschol, and her parents have not even taught her where she is praying, and why.)
- Wealth will be widespread, and corruption will be rampant. (Just take a look at the American Government.)
- Music, female singers, and alcohol will be common. (Once again, when early Muslims heard of this, they were in complete shock. It was very hard for them to believe, and yet, look at the world today. Music, alcohol, and almost all other forms of “entertainment” have become prevalant.)
- The worst people will be chosen as leaders. (Aaah, yes, they couldn’t have made it any more clearer. George W. Bush, enough said.)
- There will be family turmoil in every household. (Although we all hate to admit it, I’m sure we’ve all had major issues in between family members. I know I have.)
Once again, I have taken whatever is written in bold STRAIGHT FROM what I read. I think I’m scarred for life
