after looking at online boutiques that sell shalwar kameez i’ve realized that the majority of the boutiques are selling other designers work. what i mean is that the owners of the online boutique take pictures from magazines and paste it on their website as their own design. I’m sure the designers know this is going on but since there are no copyright laws concerning fashion they can’t do anything about it. I think its a shame the designers are getting ripped off this way. one site in particular that is doing this is bargelloshop. just about everything on that site is someone else’s design…

yeah people do take a pic to their darzi and copy the outfit but at least they don't make money off it.

Yes you are true, designs of designers are coied by botiques, tailors and other designers as well.
All these things can only stop when we'll have some copyright act implemented. Otherwise just not the taylors or botiques, but many designers also cheat and their designes are copied from some other designers.
If we have a proper system for the designers to register the design and then get paid if this design is copied any where, only then can designers, tailors and botiques do well.

No, the issue is not about copyright really. Everyone can take a design, and modify it a bit or so with their own darzi.
The issue is really of false advertising. The online company takes a picture from a magazine, markets this product as their own, and then sends you something different when you order that item.
Even if the people behind these websites are copying designs and then really selling copies - its not going to be the same item. The cloth quality will most likely be lower. The embroidery/beadwork wont be of the same quality. The finishing wont be the same quality.
So its a matter of false advertising.

Well copyright and quality laws apply to online botiques as well.
If once implemented, it will be hard for any one to copy or cheat. If you get bad product based on false advertisement, you can put a case at least, if nothing other improves.
But withut having such laws, we can just sit and cry for the wrong decission we made.

sometimes 2 different ppl can also have the same idea,
but , shazii , fashion is a particular trend followed by certain ppl at the same time, as we say high heels are in fashion , so we mostly observe high heels.
this narrows the limits n obviously they copy one way or the other.
