I'tekaaf

:salam:

How can ladies do I’tekaaf(In case they can’t stay in a mosque). How short/long can it be ie.minimum how many hours & maximum how many days/months etc.

Is it permissible to do I’tekaaf everyday(last 10 days of ramadan) for a few hours ie. in the night only ?

Early replies would be highly appreciated.

Re: I'tekaaf

and why cant ladies stay in a mosque?

Re: I'tekaaf

For Itekaf, does the person has to be in the mosque or can they do Itekaf at home like make one of the rooms in the house as a praying room and stay there for itekaf till the end of ramzan?

for women its recommeded they stay in their homes and worship

when women leave home to imitate men its effects are disastrous

Re: I'tekaaf

well I dont thing they are going to be disastrous. Allah will help you, but I think its best if women do it at home because if they have kids it will be better. I dont think any women do in mosque.

Could someone provide authentic information along with references please.

Re: I'tekaaf

does iteQaf have to be 10 days? one of my friends is doing it and she did it last year, for only 5 days......

Re: I'tekaaf

^ it can be for only 1 minute too. they say to make intention of itekaaf when entering the masjid.

as for the sunnah itekaf, yes it's the last 10 days of ramadan.

I read this online…
