Which cuisine do you’ll like the best. Here is a survey from New Jersey.
Italian was, by far, the favorite among diners, with 41 percent favoring that cuisine.
American cuisine was preferred by 17 percent, followed by seafood at 9 percent, Chinese at 6 percent, steak at 5 percent, Japanese at 3 percent, Indian at 3 percent, Mexican at 2 percent and French at 2 percent.
I agree, my favorite cuisine is italian..most of the time we got out to an italiam plac eor another...if not I look for italian items on the menu...
Luckily i found fried calamari at this vietnamese place..it is heavenly with butter garlic sauce.
But the question is who was part of thiss survey, what population?

Meat is good for you in the right quantity, it is almost impossible to get all our protein from just veg, in addition to protein it has high levels of iron, vitamin B1 and niacin.
Islamically slaughtered meat does not contain much blood, with a very sharp knife we cut the throat, windpipe and the blood vessels in the neck leaving the spine intact (as not to cause cardiac arrest) so that the blood is well drained.
As well as being the most hygienic it is also the most humane method of slaughter because blood flow to the nerve of the brain responsible for pain is severed so the animal doesn't feel pain, scientific studies have shown it to be less painful than the stunning methods.
God made us omnivores not herbivores, meat eating is the way of nature, some species are meant to be other species food.

What is american cuisine? I always think but could not figure out anything. Maybe burger, hot dog, chilli.
Even burger is not unique as it is kind of a sandwich which is a universal food
Hotdog has sausage which is polish and german thing.
So guys help me, name some of the dishes of american cuisine for me
Americans got the Pretzel, Hotdogs, Hamburgers, Steak and Mashed potatoes from German immigrants
Americans got Pizza, Calzone, Cheese Steak from Italian immigrants
Americans got French Fries from Belgian immigrants
Americans got Popcorn from Hispanic immigrants
etc.....
So if 10% of New Jersians eat Pizza, would it come under Italian food or American food.
And Pop Corn is American cuisine? Let me rephrase it. Popcorn is Cuisine? So people eat it for Dinner
Peper steak, I think that survey said American Cuisine is 17%, steak at 5%, so the survey is taking steak as seperate cateogary
I request not to jump into an argument, just try to make me look stupid. I am living here from 16 years so I know a bit or two about cuisines.
My question was simple and your answer is confusing. I am not asking about borrowed food, that much, I also know.
I am talking about genuine American food. Just like you go to Italian restaurant in USA, if you go to American Restaurant in Italy, what food would thery serve?
^^ An American Restaurant in Italy would probably serve all non-Italian American staples such as Steak with Mashed potatoes, chilli, pretzels, onion rings, etc...
But since America is a nation of immigrants, there is nothing uniquely American. Its basically a mesh of different cultures which gives American food its uniqueness

Good, so that brings me to my original question, when 17% New Jersians said they liked American food, what food were they talking about. I am talking about real meal, not pretzel or onion rings (like steak and potatoe is more american then any other. Any other examples?)

my guess would be all the non-italian food in USA would be considered American by Italian-Americans
