Technical Support Specialist
We are currently looking for 150 Technical Support Specialists to assist with a large inventory/asset management project in various locations across Canada. We are looking for a 10 consultants in each of the following cities: Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Sherbrooke, Moncton, Halifax, Toronto, and the Greater Toronto Area. In this role, you will be responsible for going to multiple clients sites as part of a team of 16 consultants (a Team Leader, 10 Technical Support Specialists, 3 Data Entry Assistants, and 2 Quality Assurance Consultants). Your role on the team will be to gather all the Workstation data including software and software versions, operating systems, hardware and to document this information on a form. You will move from Workstation to workstation until all of the technical assets at the site have been accounted for and documented on a standardized checklist.
Skills Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience participating in large rollouts and deployments.
- Prior experience working with Windows Operating Systems (Microsoft 2000/XP).
- Previous experience supporting the MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Prior experience working with problem management tools and Visio.
- Previous experience supporting anti-virus programs (Norton, McAfee).
- Strong experience working with communications systems (PDA’s, Lotus Notes R5, MS Outlook, MS Exchange, RIM Blackberry Enterprise Server).
- Previous experience supporting Desktops, Laptops, Printers, Routers, Firewalls, Switches, Hubs, Servers.
- A strong working knowledge of networking environment.
Two years of technical support experience required and A+ or MCSE or technical certification required. Position is a 3 month contract and rate is rate is 15 - 18 $/hour. Lead hand positions also available with higher rate.
