This is all for the sake of maximising profits. Couple of years back on 20/20 or some program they revealed widespread mistreatment of animals in slaughterhouses.

Halal and home breeds are always better.
Though it doesnt mean a person should be vegetarian.

also there are different use of animals. Many were born only to be eaten. I dont think so animals have funerals.

another thing is that the islamic way of slaughtering an animal is perfect. first of all islam tells muslims to zibaah the animal. in that process when the butcher cuts the throat it does 2 things
1-it cuts the main blood vessel thingy (apologize for me lack of medical terms) but does not stops the heart, in which case heart keeps pumping the blood out which is very hygenic to eat. better then the “jhatka” slaughtered animal
2-it cuts the nerves which cause pain, so the animal after the innitial few seconds has no pain what so ever. the sudden movements of the animal are caused by lack of blood going to muscles.
if u compare that to the “jhatka” slaughter. it causes pain to the animal and non hygenic since most of the blood doesnt come out after the heart stops beating.

^^ thats a right reason. but it has to do with the Halal / Haram and also the usage of such breed as shown in the clip.
It is our love for plentiful and inexpensive chicken meat and ither Non-Veg food that has brought us to the place where we are routinely and with the blessing of veterinarians and scientists grinding up tens of millions of baby animals, alive, each year.
