How can i permanently delete websites that i have visited so there is no trace of them at all???

what are you using - what breed of the explorer ?
if it is Microsoft Internet explorer - then try this
*for IE 7 *
Open Internet Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, and then clicking Internet Options.
Click the General tab, and then, under Browsing history, click Delete.
Under History, click Delete history, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the history.
Click Close, and then click OK.
To delete all or some of your browsing history in Internet Explorer 8
Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer.
Click the Safety button, and then click Delete Browsing History.
If you do not want to delete the cookies and files associated with websites in your Favorites list, select the Preserve Favorites website data check box.
Select the check box next to each category of information you want to delete.
Click Delete.

for Google chrome :
Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
- it will be on the right top of your screen
Select Tools.
Select Clear browsing data.
In the dialog that appears, select the checkboxes for the types of information that you want to remove.
Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Select beginning of time to delete everything.
Click Clear browsing data.

yup what Naabigh said.
Make sure u select delete everything. as the history thing has this option of deleting browsing data from last week, last day etc etc. which means if that is selected then it will only delete your browsing data for the past two weeks, days etc.
also if there is an option then set your history to "delete everything when browser is exited". then it will automatically delete everything once you close the browser.

Just so you know your ISP will know what sites you have visited so if you have been on illegal sites the police will be able to find out.

You can format your hard drive and reinstall Windows and I will still be able to find out what sites you visited and what documents you saved 
Go figure!

After you delete all the files thru the browser there is still an index.dat file that keeps all the history and cannot be deleted. There are some manual ways to delete it. Google the file name it should be able to give you some things on it.

lol what have you been looking at lol just kiddin just use private browsing it wont save any history at all it can be activated by pressing ctrl+shift+n on google chrome and you wont have to go to hassle of deleting history every time. I use it when I watch you know what it works perfect
