IT Consulting in PAK

Questions?

Are their any big International players already here e.g. IBM, Accenture, LogicaCMG

Who are the big PK based players.

What would a typical salary be.

Is it a growing market, mainly around ERP or other technologies too?

I am involved in security. What kind of opportunities available in PK, considering most organisations in UK just started to take IT security seriously. Are we at that stage in PK?

what’s good, bad the ugly for someone who is looking at the possibility of moving back to historic home from UK. I just feel it’s work to the grave here. Not good for your health.

Re: IT Consulting in PAK

I don't know the current status of IT consulting there, neither have work experience of Pak. But have heard bad experiences from others. I'd say, before moving there, get the idea of work-environment ..... i mean abt people's attitude, internal politics, corruption etc. etc.

Re: IT Consulting in PAK

That is true any where in the world especially in dynamic fields like information technology. If you come accross as a go getter and an achiever- you will always be the target of extreme internal politics and nasty competitiveness.

Re: IT Consulting in PAK

IBM and microsoft are there since ages.
NCR, Unisys are also there. Oracle is there through Oratech I guess. dont know about accenture but sure anderson consulting was there in some capacity.

LogicaCMG has all mobile networks as their clients but they are dealt with dubai office or 4 indian based offices.

Pakistani big consulting players are or used to be, Systems limited, Cressoft, NetSol Technologies, call centre powerhouse like TRG

moving back to PAkistan is very good option at present high time when market is growing. most demand is in Telecoms and Finance sector.

depending on your experience, education background, you can fetch very decent salary with perks. however working environment may be bit relaxed and rude depending on the people and the company you work in. but mostly corporate sector is good.

Re: IT Consulting in PAK

whats the best way to approach these guys for possible employment - not knowing the etiquettes of PK at the moment?

What would a decent salary be?

Re: IT Consulting in PAK

UK or US experience and education add up to very decent salary and senior roles.
for normal roles you can apply directly. but best jobs will go through strong references within the company you applying or someone who can recommend you.

decent salary - would be 100K+ PKR per month plus car and other benefits. assuming relevant experience and education.
