me and my cousin both did Istikhara for two different people and we have different results.
I saw the potential person wearing white… looking at me.. it was in a nice clean white building and behind him were silver and white stairs… thats what i saw…
my cousin saw she was in a wedding, and she saw her potentials mother talking negatively about her and everyone in the wedding had negative thoughts about her. she got upset then she went to the potentials mother and explained to her that she is not wrong and is good etc. then the potentials mother started to cry and hugged her sideways. she is very confused.
Dreams are tricky. What may seem to be a negative sign in a dream could actually be positive in interpretation. For example, death means a long life. Crying in a dream means the opposite...happiness. It could be that if your friend were to get the dream interpreted by a religious person who is an expert in this area...he/she may tell you that it's a positive dream.
Also, istikhara is not about dreams. It's about paying attention to the ow the events unfold in your life. If the rishta is good for you, it'll happen. If not, then Allah will bring it to an end. You're paying more attention to concrete actions as opposed to dreams can be hard to interpret.
Is it just me or have desis really gotten carried away with the ishtikhara craze?
It's not a fortune telling service.
You can achieve the same by praying yourself that you be guided on the right path.
It's just a way to escape the responsibility of our own decisions - that's what I came to realize.
Plus, yeah ishtikhara can be wrong. I was told I had green signs for a certain way in my job and then didn't pan out leaving me devastated. When my inner voice was telling me the right thing all along. I ended up spending 11K in the way of an ishtikhara.
Just make the right decisions for yourself based on what you think is right, and accept that some of your decisions will be wrong and things wont always work out.
a million things in life have to go wrong before you start planning your life based on dreams.
I suggest start fixing those things, so you don't have to depend on dreams.
Mughalprincess...Dreams can be true for sure, as we in islam do believe on dreams. BUT, that's if someone knows how to interpret them correctly.
True dreams are a part of Prophethood, as it was reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “True dreams are one of the** forty-six parts of Prophethood**.” (al-Bukhaari, 6472; Muslim, 4201)
The truthfulness of the dream is related to the sincerity of the dreamer. Those who have the most truthful dreams are those who are the most truthful in speech. (Muslim, 4200) Towards the end of time, hardly any dreams will be untrue. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allahbe upon him) said: “That will be because the Prophethood and its effects will be so far away in time, so the believers will be given some compensation in the form of dreams which will bring them some good news or will help them to be patient and steadfast in their faith.” (al-Bukhaari, 6499; Muslim, 4200)
