I have heard people see things in their dreams after istikhara....is this true? I have never seen anything myself that could indicate anything...
What if after performing an Istikhara you get a bad dream? Bad dreams are said to be from the shaitan and I was told not to ever include them into your Istikhara as there is no truth in bad dreams and you shouldn't even narrate them. I mean what if you have these dreams regularly?
Following is quoted.
*The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us the difference between good dreams and bad dreams. It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri that he heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “If any one of you sees a dream that he likes, it is from Allaah, so let him praise Allaah for it and tell people about it. But if he sees something other than that, that he dislikes, it is from the Shaytaan, so let him seek refuge with Allaah from its evil and not mention it to anyone, for it will not harm him.” *
*(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 7045). *
It was narrated from ‘Awf ibn Maalik that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Dreams are of three types: some are terrifying things from the Shaytaan, aimed at causing grief to the son of Adam; some are things that a person is concerned with when he is awake, so he sees them in his dreams; and some are a part of the forty-six parts of Prophecy.”

Following is quoted again:
Offering the prayer and then going to sleep to see what one dreams is not a Sunnah, not a practice of Prophet Muhammad (sal-Allahu alehi wa salam) nor of his companions.
Dreams are notoriously difficult to interpret correctly, and Prophet Muhammad (sal-Allahu alehi wa salam) taught that the only reliable dream is one in which he appears.

I always thought that Istikhara is best done when you yourself feel the response from Allah Ta'lah swt and that having a dream is not a condition in the result of Istikhara.
Does anyone here have any evidence that the person who does Istikhara sees a dream directing him/ her to the result?
