Re: Istikhara aur is ka mara
My mom does istikhara before making big decisions. I have never done it myself ...if anything, i ask my mom to do it for me.
Re: Istikhara aur is ka mara
i heard some of my relatives have done it for their son's/daughter's weddings. but it sucks if you get a 'no'
Re: Istikhara aur is ka mara
The Title of this thread is disturbing. Istekhara is always good, no one is "Istekahara ka mara".
Istekhara is basically done when one is not able to pick out of two choices through logic and common sense and is 50-50% sure about both choices. Even if one picks out the obvious better choice, istekhara can be done to pray to Allah (swt) to put barakah and blessings in the picked choice.
:k:
Salat-l-istikhara is the Islamic prayer for guidance when a Muslim is faced with an important decision and not sure of the choice she/ he needs to make.
We must seek guidance and wisdom from Allah Talah swt and Allah Talah swt knows what is best for us and if there may be good in what we think as bad, and bad in what we think as good.
You should be open minded to any possible result as you should have trust in Allah Talah swt. Then nothing will go wrong, Inshallah.
I try to do istikhara for most of the major decisions...Sometimes you are just confused and cannot decide on one thing....If you do istikhara and you feel an inclination to what was in your heart then u can go for it or vice versa...
I have heard people see things in their dreams after istikhara....is this true? I have never seen anything myself that could indicate anything...

What if after performing an Istikhara you get a bad dream? Bad dreams are said to be from the shaitan and I was told not to ever include them into your Istikhara as there is no truth in bad dreams and you shouldn't even narrate them. I mean what if you have these dreams regularly?
Following is quoted.
*The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us the difference between good dreams and bad dreams. It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri that he heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “If any one of you sees a dream that he likes, it is from Allaah, so let him praise Allaah for it and tell people about it. But if he sees something other than that, that he dislikes, it is from the Shaytaan, so let him seek refuge with Allaah from its evil and not mention it to anyone, for it will not harm him.” *
*(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 7045). *
It was narrated from ‘Awf ibn Maalik that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Dreams are of three types: some are terrifying things from the Shaytaan, aimed at causing grief to the son of Adam; some are things that a person is concerned with when he is awake, so he sees them in his dreams; and some are a part of the forty-six parts of Prophecy.”
*(Saheeh Sunan Ibn Maajah, 3155) *
Following is quoted again:
Offering the prayer and then going to sleep to see what one dreams is not a Sunnah, not a practice of Prophet Muhammad (sal-Allahu alehi wa salam) nor of his companions.
Dreams are notoriously difficult to interpret correctly, and Prophet Muhammad (sal-Allahu alehi wa salam) taught that the only reliable dream is one in which he appears.

I always thought that Istikhara is best done when you yourself feel the response from Allah Ta'lah swt and that having a dream is not a condition in the result of Istikhara.
Does anyone here have any evidence that the person who does Istikhara sees a dream directing him/ her to the result?
Re: Istikhara aur is ka mara
Istikhara when done correctly can never turn out badly. The answer will not always come to you in a dream, sometimes you will have a strong feeling or receive a sign of some sort. You need to make your own salat ul istikhara, and don't rely on the istikhara of anyone else.
Sometimes you may accept a proposal which later on ends in divorce, that doesn't mean that the istikhara was faulty, it could be that Allah (swt) was testing you because insh-Allah he has something better in mind for you in future. A negative outcome of a situation does not equal a failed istikhara, it equals an opportunity for something else in your life.
