Istikhara and red color...

I did Istikhara for some thing and the only thing I saw was a red color.. does it have any significance and if it does, what is it?
shall I do Ishtikhara more than once to make it certain or just once is enough considering the only thing I see is the red color?

Any authentic link or a reference would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Re: Istikhara and red color...

Elusive its better to do istikhara for atleast 3 days...and if u still cant figure out.....do it for 7 days den...

If someone could also tell me..if its a must to see something...
isnt it true that when u wake up and the first thought that hits is u is wat u should do?...

Re: Istikhara and red color…

That’s what I know too…

Re: Istikhara and red color...

^^

I did Istikhara once and was clearly, both verbally and visually (in the dream) shown the colour (Alhumdulillah)...

The decision was made in the dream (Alhumdulillah) by myself and when I woke up, the feeling was renewed and I was aware that a right choice had been made (Alhumdulillah)...

Re: Istikhara and red color…

How to pray istikhaarah

Re: Istikhara and red color...

mmmm...We have been into Istakharaz a lot...and i read about dreams and dreams interpretation a lot....... as a psychology student and also as a muslim.....what i gathered is .... Red colour is the symbol of danger......

Re: Istikhara and red color...

I dont understand, why dont you guys do an istikhara with a tasbeeh, its easy, quick and pretty straightfoward. 1 bead is yes, two bead is no. simple.

Re: Istikhara and red color...

i prefer the view that Istikhara isn't really about signs... it's about seeking Allah's assistance on a decision already made... there's nothing in the du'a of Istikhara where you ask for a "sign"

the Istikhara sequence should be...

  1. Consult/discuss/consider whatever issue it is that you need assistance in
  2. Thereafter decide what you deem is the best course of action
  3. Make the Istikhara prayer (which is in effect asking Allah to aid you in your decision and confirm its correctness or otherwise)
  4. Go ahead and action your decision
  5. Trust in Allah

As Allah says:-

"... and take counsel with them in the affair; so when you have decided, then place your trust in Allah; surely Allah loves those who trust [in Him]." (3:159)

Re: Istikhara and red color...

a lot of times i'm not sure if i should just use my own head or ask for some sign from the heavens.. hmmm can we do an istikhaara about doing an istikhaara?

...Was it Allah and His Ayaat and His Messenger that you were mocking?

(Surah Taubah, Verse 65)

Re: Istikhara and red color…

Hmmm that’s interesting. I guess spinning a bottle is also a form of istikhara.

Re: Istikhara and red color...

^As far as I know...Istikhara is just plain istikhara.....all of the other stuff like...tasbeeh and the bottle u are talkign about is called "Faal".....this stuff also involves some Qurani Ayahs but i heard we shouldnt do these....not sure though....

Re: Istikhara and red color...

Whether you use a tasbeeh or Quran (or a bottle, lol), as long as you are in wuzu and read the istikhara dua for it, its all good. Istikhara just gives a general indication to help you make your decision. The result is not binding. However, IMO, Tasbeeh are much more straightforward than interpreting dreams/colours etc You cant be too sure about what they mean and if they mean anything at all. It not as black and white.

Re: Istikhara and red color...

Ma Mooli what you going on about? Tasbeeh, Quran, bottle? where did you find all these tareekas from?

There absolutely no such thing in the ahadeeth. Its got nothing to do with dreams no colors no nothing. For the correct method, check out the link Saadiyah posted.

Re: Istikhara and red color…

mullah sharaabai aap nay thaika naheeN liya islam ka .. i don’t get these cyber mullahs grabbing random verses from the Qur’an and striking anyone and everyone over the head with them..

Re: Istikhara and red color...

What do colours signify?

Re: Istikhara and red color...

sharaabi, i was refering to the original post about seeing red or green. Apart from that, maybe its a fiqhi difference, but tasbih and Quran istikharas are quite common and although should be done as a last resort. It has a strong basis in our ahadith, hence why many people use the tasbih alongside supplication.

Re: Istikhara and red color…

You bet. If you can make fun of a practice of the Prophet (sas) you can rest assure that i will take all required thaikas.

btw, the complete Ayah was.

If you ask them (about this), they declare: “We were only talkin idly and joking.” Say:"Was it Allah and His Ayaat and His Messenger that you were mocking?"

(Surah Taubah, verse 65)

Re: Istikhara and red color…

let me guess.. istekhara is recommended by the Prophet:saw: and since you do not believe in what he says, use your head and play a wild card. good luck.
