I am really confused on this and need some clarification. I have 2 different methods of istekhara - one is when you pray/make niyat and see something in a dream (apparently this was an old and incorrect method) and the other one is when you pray 2 nafil with the niyat of istekhara, make dua to ALLAH (swt) and ask him to show the right path. With this method if something is not meant to be you will become distant from it..
Which one is it?
Also, what if you truly want something to work out for you?
In regards to this topic I also want to know that I have heard there are also some people who can do “istekhara” for you and tell you if in the future this will happen or wont or if things are meant to be or not
For example, whether a relationship (marriage) will work out or not
Is this right? I have no insight on this topic and I am really confused but I always see it this way that how can someone tell you about something in the future other than what ALLAH talah has already written for you?
Also, it's not necessary to get a dream or a certain feeling. If something isn't good for you...it just won't happen. If it is good for you, it'll happen with ease.
Make dua to Allah that he give you a crystal clear indication that will leave no room for any doubt in your mind...and He will do it. That's the dua that I made for the last istikhara I did, and I got the answer whilst I was making dua and it was so crystal clear that all my confusion was gone. I onew what path I should take and never looked back.
We can say that in second method (which is correct as mentioned in various hadiths), if it is not meant to us then yes we will become distant from it. Means we may leave it for time being, or keep it in low under our priorities, or forget about it as time passes etc. We shouldn't leave patience in ourselves and keep striking harder (invoking) and hope to get what we are asking for and that is in case if it better for us.
For your last phrase, have you ever heard/watched a movie in which 'kundali milana' shown? I mean where a Pandit comes and check whether the 'kundali of man and woman matches or not for a successful marriage life, something like that? What you asked is not different from this. As per my knowledge in various hadiths such pplz were called 'soothsayers' and it is also clearly stated that if a person believed what 'soothsayer' said, then that person disbelieved what is revealed on the last Prophet PBUH.
In other words a person "A" ask another person "B" to sit in his/her place at medical exams, pass it and then give him/her license of medical practitioner. Imagine what will person "A" do when he/she is about to examine a patient. So it is wrong.
If you're in need you may do 'istikhara' by yourself and there is no way to know what will happen in the future, and by doing istikhara about a specific issue, the tumbling of heart either will come into peace (i.e., stop tumbling) which is a go sign and if not then we should refrain and keep ourselves in patience.
Sister there is nothing wrong in receiving your information whilst sleeping (dream) or becoming aware whilst awake or not receiving anything but your situation develops or other outcomes
I have not come across anything to prohibit these results of dua (dua istikhara in your case)
Interpreting dreams is problematic, requires a very knowledgeable and wise person
Also you have come across conflicting views regarding some issues. This is sectarian differences between older and newer versions of Islam. My advice on this is stick to old.
The people who say it is permissible for others to make dua istikhara (dua) on behalf of someone whether the first or second person receive the results of this dua, are good muslims
If you take the help of someone in this issue, ask a pious person close to you. Avoid people offering this as a service
With regards to knowing future, its possible. One proof for its possibility is found in some of the dream interpretations. Prophet Yusuf Alaihis Salam, in a dream, saw the stars prostrating to Him as a child, this later proved it self. Prophets do have true dreams. Also the islamic community has been interpreting dreams and these are usually about the future eg if you see such and such in dreams it means such and such may happen. This is an indication that we believe in and do not disbelieve in the possibility of knowing bits of the future and dreams are an integral part of that.
So whilst we reject the conmen we affirm the possibility
