Istanbul, Turkey

We are travelling to Istanbul for 4 nights this weekend…

Anyone has any advice on must do’s, must buys n must eats?

Or anything interesting to add, please do so!

Re: Istanbul, Turkey

Sultan Ahmed Mosque is known as a Blue mosque is must to visit. The beach in Istanbul next to the Istanbul Airport is so beautiful. There are loads of Museums to visit that are rich with Islamic history. Also,if you are inspired by Mulana Rumi, you can go to his Shrine in Konya, Turkey.

Don't miss Turkish donor kebabs!

Re: Istanbul, Turkey

I forgot to mention Turkish delight, my dad bought it last time Turkish delight sweets with nuts, I loved it. You can get cheap saffron, olive oil soaps, traditional Turkish jewellery etc. And bargaining is their traditional way of shopping.

Hi Alishant, well first wrap upmwarm its going to be cold. Visit Blue mosque, agia sophia mosque/church.They are opposite each other. close by is Topkapi Palace, its a must! Take short ferry ride to old istanbul and walk back on Gelata bridge. shop in spice market and the grand bazaar. you have to barter as the first price is going to extortionist. spices, cheese, olives, jewellery and glass hanging lamps are beautiful. Take a tram ride from town to the grand bazaar. visit the hammams. seperate for men &women. Ceramic pottery based on isnik tiles and other ancient artefacts. you will have a good time. all of walking distsnce if you are staying near the famous sites mentioned.
