Istakhara

I did istakhara about a week ago and woke up with a really good feeling but no dream. Last night I saw a green box in my dream but I am not too sure. Should I do it again?
Secondly, once you get a decision you have to follow it, right? For example Allahs telling me to do this thing, I can’t give up because I see no future?

One the most misunderstood things about istikhara is that it is viewed sometimes as a crystal ball, where a decision will become manifest. That is not really what it is about. Rather one should engage in reasearch, ask people of knowledge and then do bismillah and make up their mind about embarking on the action. Just before embarking on it, but after making the decision for it, then istikhara is performed and then if it is 'good' the person will be drawn towards fulfilling that action and with little effort things will begin to work out, but if it is not 'good' then the person will be made to delay that action and it will appear more difficult to do. Only where there may be catastrophic consequences can a clear dream appear telling the person NOT to do it.

Yes ... and istikhara should be done over again a few times to make things clearer, but the above process is the best way of doing it. When it becomes clear then doing it is a must, but that is without being said, it will be easier to do it in that case anyway.

Re: Istakhara

i think it is not neccesary to see sum specific thing in ur dreams

i think its like if u want to do sumthing and u ask for help through istikhara then u will make up ur mind bout that thing u will feel satisfied doing that thing

for exapmle u wanna choose a carrier for urself and u do isthikhara for that

then u will either feel satisfied bout ur choice or unsatisfied

so if u feel good bout doing the thing then do it

:)

Re: Istakhara

What about two people doing it and getting conflicting answers? As in the husband and the wife and both get different feelings?

Re: Istakhara

then they shud do watever they get in that istakhara

i mean if hes gettinf negative and ur ettinf positive then he shud do negative thing and u shud do positive

and plz do watever u get in that istakhara dont do otherwise cuz its like u asked god for hepl and wen he helped u ur not taking wat he told u ur denying him

:)

Re: Istakhara

then it must be good for 1 and bad for the other

Re: Istakhara

I have done Istikhara twice .. Actually mostly cuz I was worried and depressed and needed a clear vision on something .. Well I did it with some times difference .. The first time I dreamt something nice, I was in a well mood when I woke up too .. Second time I dreamt I had insects in my hair, but I wasnt scare or anything, indeed I was laughing and I did wake up in a good mood .. What exactly should one understand the insect part?
