ISRO

Re: ISRO

Well in my opinion, Millhonin is quite biased and inaccurate in his records, while nti.org is more detailed, accurate and unbiased.

In 2007-08, ISRO shall launch a lunar orbiter to the moon. The rocket shall carry Indian, as well as US, EU, and Japanese payloads (those nations will pay a fee to India). NASA's chief Michael Griffin came to Bangalore last month to review the progress and to sign the deal. The cryogenic engines for that rocket shall be entirely indigenous, as Russia refused to sell its technology to India in 1991 upon US presure. They only gave India, the engines.

This shall place India in a group of few nations to have such capability.

Re: ISRO

abdali i dont agree with your views on Iraq, Israel but this is some funny stuff:D

Re: ISRO

Dunno why you would start lashing out on Millhonin. It takes brains to learn new techniques. Bharatis should be proud that they were able to learn the new stuff from USA, Germany, or France.

As I said earlier, true space technology rests with G-4 countries: USA, Russia, Japan, and Europeans. The rest like Bharat, Pakistan, China, Israel, and Brazil are dependent on the suppliers from G-4.

Re: ISRO

No thats totally wrong Captain... every country should try her best to be independent in each n every field, if you will think countries like China Russia US will do job for you people then your future can be disaster n believe me Satellites r playing a major role now in India n in India's economy. I know how powerful is India Media wot India has achieved just in last 15 years.... If u will think positive today then your future would be definetly bright.

n ya one more thing whenever i see your posts specially "Captain" Pirates of Caribbeanss scene comes on my mind i dont know why heheh.. :D

Re: ISRO

indigenous, LOL… first make an indigenous piston engine for arjunK… Or atleast paint it in Indian colors..

Re: ISRO

lol arjunk. hahahaha:D

India thinks like England in football

England beleives that belongs to the World Top Tier Teams like Germany, Argentina, Italy and Brazil but in reality it belongs in the 2nd Tier Teams like France, Holland and Sweden.

Same with India.

India thinks its a global and world power and belongs with the likes of USA, Germany and Japan but in reality it belongs with Brazil and Nigeria.

India has to face facts. Its not a world power, it will never be a world power and all it will ever become is nothing more than a dumping ground for the monotonous jobs from the West.

Re: ISRO

Nope, I would rather take the whole country together and develop instead of a small population doing everything and earning everything while other big part is left behind and starving.

Re: ISRO

Well as I said earlier, his articles do not reveal any top-secret information hidden from the Indian public and are quite biased. Its well known that the SLV-3 rocket is modelled on the Scout, whose designs NASA sold to India. Indian scientists were trained at NASA’s facilities, and how the French gave India its Viking engine coz Indians ended up working for 135 man-years on its design in France (it was considered equally Indian).

All this is mentioned in detail in President Dr Kalam’s autobio, and the autobios of other Indian scientists.

Now the website for an unbiased view is nti.org. It is far more detailed and revealing, unlike Millhonin’s statements like “SLV is an exact Scout copy” or “Agni is a Scout copy”, which are not true at all and cannot be discussed here coz its too technical. You can refer to nti.org or bharat-rakshak.

Actually India depends only on the cryogenic upper stage of the GSLV Mk-I and Mk-II launch vehicles, which are Russian. In most other technologies, India is self-sufficient.

ISRO opens up to India Inc. June 30, 2006

Look! there is no need to get blown away by false nationalism here. Bharat cannot make single-cylinder engine or a good “hot-water” tap for simple-household use. And you are convinced that Bharatis are self-sufficient!](“http://www.htcricket.com/news/181_1732790,00040005.htm”)

India To Build Independent Satellite Navigation System, July 05, 2006

This will be like an Indian version of GPS or Galileo.

Re: ISRO

Indian GPS :rotfl:

Re: ISRO

thinking about pakistan space programme makes people laugh..:omg:

Re: ISRO

Re: ISRO

Just keep laughing, and in the mean time India will get more and more advanced.
You know that people, when they cannot do anything, when things go out of their hands, then due to frustration sometimes people do laugh.

India’s 2,170kg INSAT-4C is set to launch on July 10 from the Sriharikota space centre in Andhra Pradesh on board an India-built Geo-Synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV).
It will be the largest satellite ever to be launched from an Indian launcher and the first from the new second launch pad at Sriharikota. ISRO, the Indian Space Research Organisation is planning to launch a 4,000kg satellite in 2008.
According to The Times of India: “This type of rocket could in future be the vehicle of choice for launching manned space missions. Meanwhile, ISRO’s current thrust is also to build shuttle type reusable launch vehicles that would lift off like rockets in order to insert satellites into orbit and then return by landing on runways like conventional aircraft.”
INSAT-4C is the second of seven series 4 satellites to be launched. The 3,080 kg INSAT-4A was launched from an Ariane rocket last December and INSAT-$B will also be launched by Ariane. India claims the it is able to reduced launch costs by around 40 percent by using its own launcher.
INSAT-4C is an exclusive Ku-band satellite with 12 high power Ku-band transponders providing India coverage primarily for direct-to-home TV broadcasting. It has a design life of 10 years.
INSAT now has eight satellites in operation: INSAT-2E, INSAT-3A, INSAT-3B, INSAT-3C, INSAT-3E, KALPANA-1, GSAT-2 and EDUSAT. The organisation claims that, by 2007 it will have about 225 active transponders in various frequency bands by 2007.
The Indian National Satellite (INSAT) system is a joint venture of the Department of Space (DOS), Department of Telecommunications (DOT), India Meteorological Department (IMD), All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan. Founded in 1983, it is now one of the largest domestic communication satellite systems in the Asia Pacific Region.

Re: ISRO

Well said Narayan Bhai ! Wah wah.

Re: ISRO

I’m again disagree with you n the thing which i’ve hightlighted can never be happened in long term relations coz people r fighting with each other frm past 1000’s of years n it will never ever change, you cant trust anyone in long term relations n believe me Satellites r not wastage of time or money. Satellites have totally changed India’s image in past few years n im sure you will also be agree India’s media is getting more powerful everyday coz India has gain something from satellites not only in Media but in other things too. ISRO is not providing services only to India but aso to other countries, if u’ll go for in-depth analyize u’ll come to know that satellites are also playing a mojor role for poor people of India as well as to boost India’s economy.

Here’s a link where it has mentioned ISRO is also planning to make small satellites for other countries.

http://www.indiantelevision.com/interviews/y2k5/executive/iyer.htm

n ya one more thing i didnt get why Abdali is laughing after seeing “GPS” may be this would be new to him :D… GPS system is also getting very common now a days in India, withing 3-4 years GPS would be common in India. Just take a look at here http://www.rediff.com/money/2005/jan/22spec.htm , I’m sure it will also be used to track Vehicles in delhi during 2010 common wealth games.

Re: ISRO

^ yes please, do educate me how satellites are helping poor and starving millions of people :)

Re: ISRO

Few examples for better life…

Re: ISRO

Benefits listed in the program could’ve been achieved without India sending the satellites on its own, no?
