Israel doesn’t like the alternative either. Otherwise, if a country like Israel can easily flout Syrian air defenses then I doubt that US / NATO can’t take care of Syria if they wanted to. The current situation benefits Israel as not only is assad impotent when it comes to Israeli attacks, but he is more restrained due to rebels and the sectarian induction of Hezbollah in Syria now leads the FSA against Hezbollah which would only deplete Hezbollah ranks. Enemy of my enemy is my friend!
