Israel's attack on Syria

I’m surprised to find no thread on this topic? What do you guys think? Is this the first step towards The US and allies getting involved in the conflict?

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

It's a step in the same direction of Israel violating others' sovereignty and then crying wolf as usual. In a fair UN, Nato would be landing at Ben Gurion and setting up Green Zone in Tel Aviv.

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

Israel has a 'right to self-defence'.....

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

They just wait and watch when tables are turned, and other nations start defending themselves. inshaAllah

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

the illegal pirate state of israel is living on borrowed time.

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

they are all illegal states out in the middle east, and they are all living on borrowed time.

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

^ They are not talking about illegal Indian occupation of Kashmir.

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

^ They are not talking about illegal Iltaf Hussain and company's occupation of urban sindh either. vat is your point?

Israel's attack on Syria

The US and allies are involved already.. Their intel swarming syria.. Israel was given the green light to do as it please.. But the claim that they were attacking convoy for hizbullah was false, it was a syrian military research centre... They want to do as much damage as possible before full on invasion.. Which is rumoured to be sometime this summer.

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

Interesting. I wonder what US and allies would get out of invading Syria? Does Syria have any oil reserves?

Also, news is that Israel would support Assad over the rebels. May be Alex B can verify it? If its true I wonder what Iran would make of that?

Latest news on BBC reveal Hazbollah fighting alongside Assad's army...strange.

As much as I would like to see Assad to step down...I would hate to see Israel attacking Syrian soil.

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

Syria has been the best ally the pirate state of israel has had for past 40 years not a single tomato has been thrown at pirate state of israel from Syria they have been their protector for generations.

the golan heights is a buffer zone given free to israel by syria many years ago.

the attacks by israel do not threaten the regime one bit.

both Russia and USA agree with allowing the pirate state of israel to attack syria at will because there will be no criticism from anyone abroad.

Syrian regime does not care they focused on internal problems in fighting what they call rebels.

What they think they will get from attacking syria is breaking the link between iran and hezbullah, in an attempt to weaken them both. They believe it will isolate iran even further, making it easier for them to attack iran, and for Israel to defeat an iran dependant hezbullah.

Wont work because hizbullah is able to carry on independently, and iran has gained other friendly and strategic neighbours, should it lose syria as an ally.

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

Beware! ''Greater Israel'' is coming ;)

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

Israel's only enemy which compelled Israel to leave an occupied area, and which actually made Israel uneasy is Hezbollah. And Syria is the only conduit for Hezbollah to get weapons.
If Syrian government goes away then Hezbollah will lose its position.

This is why Americans and Israelis have been stoking the civil war in Syria, hoping to unseat Assad. But their calculations might be changing now because Syrian opposition is increasing becoming extremist-infested. The moderates are out. Americans tried their best to bring moderates to front but to no avail.

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

^^
So honestly what is your point. Does Israel and US now want Assad to continue. If so, Israel should not have attacked Syria..

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

Iraqi Shia join Assad too...

okay...this is getting uglier.

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

The point of that previous post was that Syria is not liked by Israel, as one of our friend suggested here.

A very well written and interesting article.

Re: Israel's attack on Syria

Israel doesn't like the alternative either. Otherwise, if a country like Israel can easily flout Syrian air defenses then I doubt that US / NATO can't take care of Syria if they wanted to. The current situation benefits Israel as not only is assad impotent when it comes to Israeli attacks, but he is more restrained due to rebels and the sectarian induction of Hezbollah in Syria now leads the FSA against Hezbollah which would only deplete Hezbollah ranks. Enemy of my enemy is my friend! ;)

Iraq war wasn’t really about oil.
