**The Israeli authorities have named a soldier and the Palestinian police officer charged with his murder at a West Bank intersection.**Sgt Maj Ihab Khatib, 26, was stabbed in the chest through the open window of his parked 4x4 army vehicle on Wednesday at the Tapuach junction.
Mohammed Khatib, who is not related, was arrested leaving the area in a car.
The police have also reportedly arrested several members of the suspect’s family.
Sgt Maj Khatib, a Druze non-commissioned officer in the elite Kfir Brigade, had tried to drive away, but had lost consciousness and his vehicle flipped over, the authorities said.
His killer, reportedly “acting alone”, is thought to have been waiting for a military vehicle to ambush.
Israeli media reported Mr Khatib’s car had been halted when a security officer from a nearby settlement rammed it.
