Israeli Courts join in the game of war crimes

Israel expels Palestinians

Israeli courts have approved the expulsion of 2 Palestinians, saying that their removal to Gaza does not constitute violation of international law, since Gaza and West Bank are one territory. Then one may ask, why the removal?

USA with its stepped up and largely baseless bellicose against Iraq has effectively helped put a blanket on Israels ongoing war crimes in Palestine by muffling out the noises coming out of the occupied terroritoes. Last weekend saw the murder of 13, almost half of them kids. Everyday sees more demolitions. The argument coming out of Israel and US is that look at the result. This has resulted in no suicide bombing in Israel for the past month now. But what they conveniently overlook are the war crimes in Palestine.

So its fair to say that war crimes are justifiable when used against another crime.

This is a really long article. Not posting it in full. Worth reading carefully though IMHO.

In my opinion, one of the aspects Muslims are sorely lacking in is representation in genuine journalism - we should have more journalists like the Israeli Ha’aretz’s Gideon Levy and Amira Hass. Muslim journalists not willing to toe the official line, willing to stick their neck out - we need more self-criticisms. If we ourselves are not committed to reforming the policies of our own governments, then who will?

The house demolitions continue, the illegal settlements increase, more Palestinian babies and kids are killed by the Israeli army, and so does the American aid to the Israeli army terrorists that carry out these crimes. Is it any wonder that only one or two countries are prepared to support the double standards and blatatant hypocrisy that emanates from the Americans and Zionists?

the illegal settlements increase

Gladly.

The illegal settlements continue, people are killed; massacred, they are under conditions not seen since the second world war. They are confined in virtual camps and not allowed to do anything and no israel violate international laws and norms again. It is time they pay for their actions

And now it seems that the Israeli courts are legalising these sort of crimes?

Its often noticed that in theocratic states, the courts often side with the administration to implement/interpret the laws. The same complaint can be heard in Pakistan, where people accuse the courts of legalizing all kinds of martial laws etc. So, the decision by Israeli court is not surprising, though unfortunate.

The real way to push forward and accomplish the dream of a homeland for Palestinians is a unified movement from the Muslim states and a will to act. They should put their actions where their mouth is and actually do something to alleviate the sufferings of the people of Palestine. Waiting for the United States government or Israeli Supreme Court to come on the side of Muslims is, perhaps, a waste of time and self-deceiving.

“According to government documents read by Leibowitz, the Israeli state attorney’s office estimates between 50-60,000 Palestinians who they deem to be deportable from the occupied territories, for reasons similar to Abu Id.”

Another aspect to the Totalitarian occupation! :nook:

Slow Ethnic Cleansing](http://zmag.org/content/showarticle.cfm?SectionID=22&ItemID=2767) Dec 19

JERUSALEM, December 19, 2002 – Today, in Tel Aviv District Court, a Palestinian worker, Jihad Abu Id, will be demanding his release from an Israeli prison. Abu Id has been detained for the last six months, ever since he was arrested for working in Israel without a permit.

Abu Id comes from a village called Bidu, located near Ramallah in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. The normal process to deal with “illegal” Palestinian workers in Israel is to detain them for no more than a day, and then remove them to their village of origin in the occupied territories.

However, in the case of Abu Id, the Israeli Ministry of the Interior is trying to deport him to Jordan. The excuse: he’s married to a Jordanian woman. According to Sharon Bavli, the state attorney at the Israeli Interior Ministry that is attempting to force the removal of Abu Id, his marriage to a Jordanian forfeits his rights to reside in Palestine itself.

Abu Id has been jailed for the last six months in Israel’s Maasiyahu Prison, a special facility for deportees which, according to Israeli human rights lawyer Shamai Leibowitz, includes a whole section of Palestinians in similar situations to Abu Id.

Disgracfeul, and another war crime in the making. Can any Zionist supporter defend this?
