Its really funny to see these two countries fighting, I mean the largest Jewish population in the Middle East outside of Israel resides in Iran, and a large population of Iranians reside in Israel. Also during Iran-Iraq war, Iran purchased about $2.5 Billion of weapons from Isreal to kill their Muslim brothers.
Its just a propaganda by our 'beloved' and 'brave' leaders of Iran who want to divert attention away from its domestic politics. These comments are only intended to rally support for Tehran's regime which faces mounting internal criticism for its clumsiness in handling diplomatic relations and its economic failures.
I agree that a lot of iranians are anti-islam and think of it as an arab ploy to occupy their nation(find them a lot in california) but how can you equate that with iran-iraq war and the arm sales to iran? The muslim brothers you talk about so fondly were the first one to start the hostilities and their leader Arafat was cuddling with Saddam a few days after the start of the war. These same muslim brothers had no hesitation in using chemical weapons against the iranians.Arm sales by isreal was according to the policy of the “enemy of my enemy is my friend” and they were not alone Libya and Syria openly sided with Iran.If Iran grants religious freedom to its jews it is something to be proud of rather than criticize them about it
Regarding the second part of your comment about shifting attention from domestic problems I agree with you
