Israel shocked by image of..

..soldiers forcing violinist to play at roadblock

Of all the revelations that have rocked the Israeli army over the past week, perhaps none disturbed the public so much as the video footage of soldiers forcing a Palestinian man to play his violin.
The incident was not as shocking as the recording of an Israeli officer pumping the body of a 13-year-old girl full of bullets and then saying he would have shot her even if she had been three years old.

Nor was it as nauseating as the pictures in an Israeli newspaper of ultra-orthodox soldiers mocking Palestinian corpses by impaling a man’s head on a pole and sticking a cigarette in his mouth.

But the matter of the violin touched on something deeper about the way Israelis see themselves, and their conflict with the Palestinians.

The violinist, Wissam Tayem, was on his way to a music lesson near Nablus when he said an Israeli officer ordered him to “play something sad” while soldiers made fun of him. After several minutes, he was told he could pass.

em speechless. I suggest hamas start recruiting violin players asap, and send em to roadblocks with a camera crew. play the twisted at their own game. :halo:

Nothing new.

really? i think it time hamas should started changing its tactics. Hezbullah style would be just foine.

Yeah if they have any brains left, they would change their antics. Palestinians should have changed their tactics back in 1965 (Sun pain-th), but they didn't. Even now they can gain much by using Jinnah's approach.

Wait...Did I read this correctly? You are blaming Hamas and Hezbullah?

The image of a violinist being forced to play is far too shocking for us mere mortals to behold, my goodness this must be the most heinous crime the Israeli soldiers have ever carried out. This puts the whole demolishing houses while babies are sleeping in them issue into context.

Nazis!!!!!!

^ you dont realize the symbolism behind the event

Nazis forced jews to play violen at the time of the holocaust.

that's a pretty mean-spirited thing to do

Look buddy! I don't launch the blame games. Hammas and Hizb are like the Subhash Chandar Bhose, Maulvi Johar, and Maulvi Ataullah Bukhari. Luckily for Pakistan and Bharat, these anarchists were kept in check by Jinnah, Gandhi etc. We were all lucky that considering the size of Indian Subcontinent, only Punjab got impacted by 1947 militancy.

Palestinians however let the militants rule the roost. The result is the successive loss of territory since 1948.

Winning territory is like playing chess game. Only winners are the ones who use their brains instead of glands that produce testosterone.

snide racism? mean ala stingy?

The morons should get one nuke in Til-Aviv putting it 60 foot under... It is a lingo jews well understand and trust me the pig in Tel-Aviv will get as civilized as moneky with Kim.. Its a time tested strategy.

I am pleased to see the Palistinians are still teaching people to play the violin, and they have an audience, albeit Israeli soldiers.

The Music departments in schools across the western world have been victims of cut backs in recent years.

That only leaves women then. Hannan Ashrawi has my vote :k:

Abdali: A nuke in tel aviv is a :nono:, its shooting yourself in the foot. and plus the palis need that land for when… you know… Israel is busy swimming.

don’t worry palis will adjust ala heroshima nagasaki but terrorist must be send packing either to hell or where they came from, and only medicine for that is uranium or plutonium rod.

There are no parallels between Israel and Pakistan except that the first is a disease while the latter is the cure. Pakistan was founded on one basis one and one basis alone: Muslims cannot surive in a hindu and other wise an anti-muslim society. While some argued that Muslims and non-Muslims, primarily the Hindus, can live together and flourish, most sided with the idea of Pakistan. What the Quaid noted several decades ago is quite evident now; prime examples being the Babri Masjid and massacre-like incidents in Gujrat.

Keep in mind that while there were millions of Muslims settled in the Indian subcontinent up until mid- 20th century, by comparison number of jewish settlers in Palestine didn't exceed by 4 figuers, even if that. The majority of the diaspora was spread though out Europe, some in the Americas and some in Asia. During the rule of Ottoman Empire, in keeping with the accord of Umar (Allah bless him), the Sultans didn't allow jews to buy land in Palestine and thus claim the right of Israel. This is the first dissimilarity.

Secondly, the unholy idea of Israel was first concieved by powerful jewish family in Europe, namely the rothchilds. Where as Pakistan was accepted as the only viable solution, Israel was rejected by MOST!!!! Pre WWII, jews flourished everywhere. Even post WWII many were still opposed to the idea of Israel. But through organized and power propaganda and immense pressure on British government the balfour declaration was passed in 1917, giving jews the right to buy land and settle in Palestine and finally in 1948 the unholy idea came into being.

Since then the displacement of an entire people, the storms of the 2 intifadas, the coming of the second holocaust, the massacres of Deir Yasin and many others like it, and cires of Palestinians have fell on deaf ears. Every diplomatic step taken by the Palestinians or governments in favor of the palestinians was rebuked and repressed by the United States in favor of the Israelis. FACT: US HAS ALWAYS VETOED OR VOTED AGAINST ALL BILLS THAT WERE RAISED IN THE UN AGAINST ISRAEL EVEN WHEN EVERY UN MEMBER VOTED IN FAVOR OF THE PALESTINIANS. Prime examples: Israel's nuclear programs, camp Jenin, UN resolution 242 calling for Israel's withdrawal to pre-1967 war, Israeli deliberate attack on US warchip USS Liberty.

That being said, what choice do Hezb and Hamas have except do to Israelis what Israelis have been doing to Palestinians since early 1900s? Technically speaking, every Israeli citizen is a soldier because they are required to perform military duties every year. People blame Hamas and Hezb for the suffering of the Palestinians because these militant groups won't give peace a chance, but the fact of the matter is Israel doesn't want peace. It wants all of palestine muslim free. This has been the stance of Likud as well as the Labor parties since the evil creation of Israel.

pakistan dont represent all south asian muslims since majority of
southasian muslims that is 300 million live out side of pakistan in both
india and bangaldesh .

You forget that East Pakistan was also involved in the separatist struggle.
