Yaar, i dont know how much have you followed the Israeli, Palestinian issue. But the negotitations oe peace accords have not brought the issue anywhere near settlement. If Palestinians recognize Israel we should too but we should not be seen as friends of a nation that kills civilians in cold blood day in and day out. Secondly, i dont beleive in your perception that somehow having Israel as friends will make the dollars flow to Pakistan
Dollars will flow to Israel , but we will benefit with their technology. If America can benefit with Israeli technology then can we. We will also get some lost goodwill back by having Israelis on our side .
Egypt has been the best friend of Israel in the region, so much so, that it had its own borders sealed to complete the Israeli siege of Gaza. It remains a poor country with hardly any technology.
Present pakistani passport says "Not valid for entry in Israel"....so now you guys will be getting brand new passports "valid for entry in Israel"...lol

First, it is not quite true that Egypt has "hardly any technology."
Second, and more importantly, Egypt is also a country with a population of over 78 million. Its alliance with Israel offers significant economic dividends-- trade with Israel, almost $1 billion annual aid from the U.S., favorable trading ties with the EU, a booming tourism sector in cities like Sharm-El-Sheikh thanks to the influx of Israeli tourists, and much reduced defense expenditure because it doesn't have to compete with a regional military superpower and can instead depend on it should the need arise. However, that alliance cannot be a cure all for Egypt’s economic problems and it can certainly not completely purge poverty from a country with over 78 million people.
How much does other surrounded states like Jordan spend? Not any more than egypt. Most of the tourist to egypt still come from arab countries and EU. A billion dollar is hardly anything, Pakistan may loose more than a billion dollar from Islamic countries if it is seen unfavourably.
That's because Egypt is also ruled by a mad dictator. Unless democracy is REALLY brought to Pakistan, there is no hope. We can get a Trillion dollars per year and nothing would change...

Thats quite shameful to be honest. Would we want Pakistan to live in India's shadow like that?
Israel oppresses the Palestinians and 350 million Arabs cant do anything about 6 million Israelis?
Friendship with Israel has come at a huge cost for Egypt.
You do not have to be an ally to buy things from anybody. You can be a buyer they can be a seller and as Firenze said above Israel has many cool things to sell which we need dearly.

I don't see any need for hostility and an arms race, between Pakistan and India or any other set of antagonists, when millions are living below the poverty line in your country and it is clear that your country, or a set of countries as in the case of Arab nations, can never be able to match the strength of the stronger rival anyways.
Ever heard "if you can't beat 'em join 'em?"
Israel oppresses the Palestinians and 350 million Arabs cant do anything about 6 million Israelis?
Arab states in masse tried to wipe out Israel on more than one occasion and failed. And thankfully. How would Pakistanis have felt if India had coaxed U.S.S.R into invading Pakistan soon after its creation because Indian government objected to the partition of India on the basis of religion?
Besides Arabs oppress Palestinians more than any other country. Perhaps you are not aware about the abject plight of Palestinian "refugees" in neighboring Arab states.

No it has not. Not only has there been significant monetary advantages for Egypt but even Palestinians continue to have good relations with Egypt.
How much does other surrounded states like Jordan spend? Not any more than egypt. Most of the tourist to egypt still come from arab countries and EU. A billion dollar is hardly anything, Pakistan may loose more than a billion dollar from Islamic countries if it is seen unfavourably.
Spend on what?
The Egyptian service sector benefits from Israeli tourists but Egypt also gets a boost because its relationship with Israel leaves it in a good stead to present a "soft" moderate image to the world, that of a welcoming tolerant country. Hence American and western tourists, who primarily benefit the most profitable luxury sector of tourism, feel comfortable visiting Egypt than, say, neighboring Syria or Lebanon. Also a $ 1 billion is a quite a lot for a poor country which itself doesn't have much to spend on developmental projects that the aid funds.
Egypt is not the only Arab country with ties with Israel. Jordan is also a big partner of Israel. Both these countries went to war with Israel. And both are Muslim Arab countries, with Jordan especially having a significant proportion of population of Palestinian descent. Neither Egypt nor Jordan has been excommunicated by the imagined so-called Umma; both continue to maintain strong ties with Muslim states like Saudi Arabia; and the Palestinians themselves have not shunned either. If these Arab countries can overcome differences with Israel then why can't Pakistan as well, which itself was carved out of India on the basis of religion and which historically has hardly strong ties with Palestinians?
Nationalism in Arab and Turk countries is stinking so bad, people are fed up thankfully. I wish to witness the coming times especially in Pakistan. Hell with nationalism. Israhell is crying because of this movement back towards Islam.
when are Pakistanis going to admit their disasters are their own making and stop whining about god, devil, USA, Israel, India, jews, hindus, christians, hitler, bush obama, whatever comes to their minds?
