Here comes the new direction for the peace process, controlled by the Israeli govt. What is strange to see is that during election campaign, elections and after the election Israeli incursions have killed at least 50 Palestinian out of which 21 were civilians as per Israeli reports, but this is no terrorism.
Anyway, Abu Mazen or Abu-what-ever can have four more elections but the Israeli equation will never change, its a Jewish state which can not get rid of its Jewish-ness. The day Israel thinks about pulling out of West Bank only then people will have a real peace partner in middle east, until then its all just BS.

JERUSALEM, Jan. 14 - Ariel Sharon, the Israeli prime minister, today ordered all government officials to cut ties with the Palestinian Authority until it curbs terrorism, a day after Palestinian militants killed six Israelis at a checkpoint on the Gaza border.
“The prime minister has instructed all members of the government to cease all contact with the Palestinian Authority until they take the necessary steps to curb and stop terrorism,” said Ranaan Gissin, a senior aide to Mr. Sharon. “We are suspending contacts until they investigate this incident and bring to justice those who planned it and take real steps to stop terrorism.”
Mr. Abbas, who is scheduled to be sworn in on Saturday, condemned the attack but coupled it with a condemnation of Israeli military actions against Palestinians.
“This operation and Israel’s operations, which killed nine Palestinians this past week, do not contribute to the peace process,” he told reporters in Ramallah after Friday prayers. “We are committed to the peace process and we will implement our campaign program.”

The squatter israelis are not going to get peace untill they leave and they not going to leave untill they forced out so the status quo will remain untill one is defeated and one is victorious!
Here we go again. Israel kills 50 palis, and then cry foul as thiers are killed in return. They mentality is mind boggling. The way Israel whines like a lil girl, you'd think the occupation was the other way around.
Aside from that, I find it totally absurd to expect the PA to control or reign in the militants when it seems Israel has control on the ongoings of everything that moves, including deciding whether a candidate can stand up for election or not, where they are permitted to hold thier campaigns and not to mention the checkpoints and tanks on nearly every corner. How in the world do they expect the PA to do anything?
a million dollar point …i was thinking the exact same thing…poor Mr. Abbas can condemn these attacks and he already did that but any further expectation from him would be useless…it is simply beyond his control.
that can never happen. Israel is an apartheid state, made only for the jews. Any such denomination would tilt the balance in the favor of the Arabs.
