Israel and Palestine

If you guys want to learn the details of the Israeli Palestine issue, I would like to suggest The Iron Wall by Avl Shlaim. He is an Israeli revisionist historian and the book is incredible.

Re: Israel and Palestine

If arabs were united and created a powerful Arab state then Palestinians, Labanese and Iraqis wouldn't have suffered. Over three dozen Arab states being hounded by a tiny Israel. When innocent palestinians are being attacked by Israeli helicopter gunships and missiles then why the Arab states are remaining silent. If Arabs create a United States of Arab and form a powerful army then this problem will be solved for ever. Nobody else can solve this problem other than Arabs themselves. We can only sympathise.

Re: Israel and Palestine

Dude it is a little complicated than that Arabs never wanted to unite,if they do who do you think will head this state?the different leaders will be fighting with each other more than the isrealis.remember what happened to U.A.R
And also nobody wants the palestinians in their state

Re: Israel and Palestine

We saw what happened with Pan Arabism back in the sixties (1967 war and arab backstabbings of each other was the reason it was replaced with an islamic banner as arabs know they couldn't defeat israel).

Re: Israel and Palestine

Exactly.
I think it was PM surawardy of pak who remarked that arab countries are like 0 you can add any number of them and the end result is still 0 (Personally I think it was kind of a racist remark but considering what all the arab alliances achieved against isreal it wasnt far from the truth)

Re: Israel and Palestine

So this means that the only way Arabs can unite is when they are completely occupied by Americans/Israelis for over one to two centuries and then leave the Arab world after a powerful arab nationalism emerges.

This is what happened in India. India had already politically disintegrated when British started their military campaign in 1757. When British left, India was a big powerful united country. That’s why I always say, British didn’t divide India. Rather they united it.

In a similar vein, it’s Israelis and Americans who will ultimately unite the Arab world.

Re: Israel and Palestine

Arabs were under occupation for over 3 centuaries first under the turks then after WW1 under french and british and even then the nationalistic forces were not able to unite all arabs under one banner.

Re: Israel and Palestine

I agree with you. But this happened because there was not much education in the Arab world. When there is sufficient education in the Arab world then occupation will create the powerful Arab nationalism. Uneducated Arabs in the earlier 20th century couldn’t unite.

Re: Israel and Palestine

good point atleast in theory…lets see what happens

Re: Israel and Palestine

^ British India wasn’t too much educated either and it united according to you

Re: Israel and Palestine

Arab world was under occupation by French, British and Ottoman empire during the beginning of 20th century. The freedom struggle never reached the masses since there was not much education in the Arab community. Even today also the country like Saudi Arabia has got just one university.

In British India, only one empire ruled the country. The freedom movement reached the masses. All the leaders were highly educated and the Indian media was very powerful. This was not the case in the Arab world. After the freedom, only royal families emerged in the Arab world and so it was not a people’s movement. In India and Pakistan, royal families eventually lost their status since it was a people’s movement which eventually brought the democracy for the first time in the Indian subcontinent. Arab people are yet to test the joy of democracy.

Re: Israel and Palestine

Do you think India would be free today if hitler hadn’t “helped” out india in his way thru WWII?

Re: Israel and Palestine

I agree with you that Hitler accelerated the process. But Gandhi had a backing of 350 million people and British rulers knew it very well. They knew that they cannot go for long.

Today Bal Thakrey, one of the biggest idiot, unfortunately commands a support of 17 million followers and he is so troublesome that secular miinded people in India, are just helpless. Shahi Imam in New Delhi, sometimes makes inflammatory statements and utterances but the Indian govt watches helplessly because he too commands large support.

I will again support my statement by giving an example of Chess. In a game of Chess, when a player gains sufficient advantage, even though he has not captured any pieces, yet the opponent resigns because the looser knows that playing further is futile and waste of time. British were already preparing to quit India. The war only accelerated the process.
