Israel and Palestine conflict - A basic map

Since the conflict in the middle east is getting worse and its in news all the time, so here are a few maps for the guppies to help them understand the problem and the proposed solution.

Under the proposed solution, “The Arab Peace Plan”, the dark shaded areas of West Bank and Gaza are to be the new independent state of Palestine. Golan Heights will go back to Syria. East Jerusalem will be the capital of Palestine and West Jerusalem will be the capital of Israel. In return Israel will have full and normal relations with all its neighbors and all attacks against Israeli state will be stopped by militant groups.

Israel will have to return all land seized since 1967 as these are considered occupied territories by the United Nations. On one hand, this means 210,000 illegal israeli settlers will have to leave their occupied homes and on the other hand Israel claims that it will leave its borders “indefensible”. Plus Israel has to give approx 22% land to Palestinians. These Palestinians, who were kicked out of their homes since 1948, demand a right of return to their homes within Israel, but Israel opposes this bcz it will render the jewish population severly diluted.
