Israel and Gaza situation

You’re all aware of the current grave situation that is taking place between Hamas and Israel. There is no doubt that loss of innocent lives is unbearable and condemnable no matter who the victims are.

Reports are emerging that an Iranian Cleric has vowed to sign up and train people to go and fight alongside Palestinians to give them leverage against Israeli superiority. Qaddafi lashed out at arab leaders for their incompetence and lack of action in pressing Israel to halt its action. Egypt has been criticized by Hezbollah chief for not opening up the border to allow supplies into Gaza. Hezbollah has also vowed to come to the defense of Palestinian, again in an attempt to make it a leveled playing filed (pardon me for the lack of better words here, there’s nothing play about this).

The fear is that if Egypt opens up the border, then it maybe seen as an accomplice to the Palestinians by Israel and may get drawn into the war. If Hezbollah formally starts fighting, then you can add Lebanon into the equation. If other muslim states offer any kind of material support, they too would be seen as choosing sides.

Will this matter escalate? Do you see the region being drawn into an outright battle or will this blow over, and a ceasefire agreed upon again? If infact the reports of foreign fighters are true, then how do they plan to enter Gaza when the areas around it have been declared closed military zones?

Please offer your insight into the situation. I know it’s a sad situation, but let us talk logically and share our points of view on it. No blames please. Just strategy and speculation on what will or can happen.
