Isn't it Haraam?!

Talking to na-mehrams on internet? Like on Gupshup? I mean sure we all can have discussion on serious topics like on religion, but what about the forums like Life and Relationships, All Views etc? We all get mixed up, discuss unnecessary topics and use soft words which can spread fitna. Please guide me I really need to know the limitations or I’ll be leaving GS soon.
Only serious answers please!

Re: Isn't it Haraam?!

well to be honest you should let your heart answer questions like these that come to mind...
If you feel that there is something wrong, then you should leave...

generally and I hope I speak for most people,
we come here with a camradrie and kindred spirit and the feeling of chatting to like minded people,we dont know if the person is older or younger and generally we dont care and the moderators keep advising to keep it clean....:)
also one can sense wrongness and I feel most people on gs are friendly honest people
my opinion.....:)

Re: Isn't it Haraam?!

GOI, Couldn't put it better.

Re: Isn't it Haraam?!

The thing is that there's danger of falling into haram. When a guy talks to a girl, Shaytaan comes in the middle. As long as you guys can stay away from that crap, there's not really much wrong with it..

Re: Isn't it Haraam?!

LOL!

as long as you don't provide GS with fantasies of "most handsome man", all is good. really.

potima wants to be hugged, guys.

Re: Isn't it Haraam?!

@ CherryBlossom. Sorry, it looks from your post that you think I am not including myself in "all".
I think I did a mistake opening this thread :)

Re: Isn't it Haraam?!

thats just wrong to call someone that....especially when thats the name of Prophet's (SAW )Daughter..

Re: Isn't it Haraam?!

Oh puhlease, my profile picture is not about "come hug me"!! If you think that way I can't do anything about it!!

Re: Isn't it Haraam?!

what's wrong with potima? it was pronounced with dialect. you don't really want to tell me that turkish people commit fitnah because they pronounce the Prophets's name Mimet.

@Fatima90
never. the only thing i couldn't think of after seeing your avatar was hugging you.

Re: Isn't it Haraam?!

FATIMA i think first we should apply main things like namaz and other restrictions. what u r saying its small thing like last days i hear that our ulmay karam r thinkinding to say HELLO on phon is haram (they have enough time) a picture on passport is HALAL now.what about body scanning on airports.
i just want to say that things like that need time so dont hurt and dont go deep

Re: Isn’t it Haraam?!

Keep your hijab on while you are talking to na-mahram on the internet. :snooty:

Re: Isn't it Haraam?!

I read somewhere and i quote "According the Sharia womens can talk to na-mahram on two conditions *(i) **to Male Doctor incase there is no lady doctor available and this matter is for life & death and *(ii) **to an scholar, an aalim to get clarification about any islamic issues. But she should only talk to those scholars or aalims who know Qur'an and Hadith very well.

During talking to Doctor, scholar or an aalim, womens shouldn't polite her voice. This is b'coz the listener (male) maybe feel himself attractive towards her (the women).

The above states in condition when u meet/talk face to face in real not on internet, but 'chatting' on the internet (video call/phone is not part of Hijaab. In Islam there is no such thing as we are online friends. Talking to non-mahrams is wrong even if it is through the internet or telephone. There are too many stories of illegal relationships, fornications, broken homes, extra-marital affairs and runaway brides to even mention. That's why in Islam anything that leads to haram is also haram. However, if u come online/chat with intention to get more and more clarification/information about Islam than i guess its allowed till u stick to the subject.

rest, Almighty Allah SWT know better.
