oh my… I sooooo wanna go… and that an experience it’d be; Turkey! :hayaa: if only I hadn’t set plans for the rest of the year :teary2:

waise I dont get why they’d teach and feed you for free? maybe its sponsored or something :hmmm:

Re: Islamic studies and Quran for teen girls and women.

pinks, i understand, when the free trip is offered, one's first instinct will be why such an expensive boarding is free and then all young women are being invited. my sense is that it is well guarded trip and that the space is safe.

u can certainly call the contact phone # of sisters provided and find out more.
my hope is that it is sponsored by a Muslim women group.

Re: Islamic studies and Quran for teen girls and women.

Waise on a side note: they do have something similar to this by Al Huda in Pakistan... they have boarding schools too for girls and it is very organised... the one in Islamabad is mainly in urdu, however, the one in Karachi is fully in english... and if you look at the pricing and convert it... it doesn't amount to much... Iv'e heard that a lot of the girls are Pakistanis who have grown up overseas...

^ lol... waise thats not bad :)

Re: Islamic studies and Quran for teen girls and women.

good observation pinks,
which is why there education, if correct and they worked hard on it, it can help the lives of so many less well educated girls and women.
boarding schools are a good thing, as long as the funding, mission statement of the boarding institute, taught curricula, teachers and the safety is the best.
there is no fun in a tough academy for let's say, army boot camps or girls or boy scouts, if the educative purpose is left out and in fact people get stuck in self destructive activities.

and the argument can be made: why not stay closer to parents initially, and then move out to college or university for education.

it is about that transition which many Pakistani parents can still not allow for their daughters, for obvious reasons for their safety.

but on the other hand, young women, must be able to confidently gain education and if an opportunity comes by to study abroad and they qualify for it, they should do.
99% of the time, a good young woman or man, will avoid all risks and the way se or he is will automatically take care of many of the idle and harmful activities in dorms or boarding schools which others unfortunately might have fallen prey to or have deliberately chosen.

it will be nice, if each educated young woman, educates other less educated girls and women then this world will be completely different.
in case of education received abroad, still the first thing that comes to mind of people less educated is that the girls or women will be independent in their thoughts so they are a danger. that mentality has to go and harboring it, has its damage all too obvious to those who harbor such mentality.

it all comes down to getting good education. and that point can be made by seeing this and understanding this: good educational institutes make good disciples or learners and good learners add to the integrity and credibility of a good institutes. the signature name of a school, college and university gains its prestige when the education in there, is of a quality standard.

Re: Islamic studies and Quran for teen girls and women.

^ true Dushwari Baji.

I forgot to mention about the Pakistani girls from "bahar"... actually what i meant to say is that they are students... and yes, Al Huda is quite strict on security... and if you look at their website... they are quite active as well as organised, Alhumdulillah.
