A judicial enquiry was conducted by Justice Mohammad Munir in Lahore to probe the anti-Qadiani riots in 1953. Some of the findings highlighted the abuse of the institution of Fatwa against Kufrs - the learned judge said things which are on public record but, which the intellectuals and politicians had for long refrained to say openly.
The judicial enquiry states that in an Islamic State the party in power can put all others ‘deemed kufr’ to death.
The enquiry findings, known as the Munir Report, publicized the fact that the Ulema were not only unfit to run a modern state but were deplorably unable under cross-questioning even to give realistic guidance on elementary matters of Islam. The court of enquiry was presented with the sorry spectacle that Muslim divines differed sharply on the definition of a Muslim yet each was adamant that all who disagreed should be put to death.
At one point the report emphasized: " But we cannot refrain from saying here that it was a matter of infinite regret to us that the Ulema whose first duty should be to have settled views on this subject, were hopelessly disagreed amongst themselves."
The result of this part of the enquiry, however, has been but satisfactory, and if considerable confusion exists in the minds of our Ulema on such a simple matter, one can easily imagine what the differences on more complicated matter will be.
“Keeping in view the several definitions given by the Ulema, need we make any comment except that no two divines are agreed on this fundamental. If we attempt our own definition as each learned divine has done and that definition differs from that given by all others, we unanimously go out of the fold of Islam. And if we adopt the definition given by any one of the Ulema, we remain Muslims according to the view of that Alim but Kafirs (unbelievers) according to the definition of every one else.”
“The net result of all this is that neither Shias nor Sunnis nor Deobandis nor Ahl-e-Hadith nor Barelvis are Muslims and any change from one view to the other must be accompanied in an Islamic state with the penalty of death if the government of the state is in the hands of the party which considers the other party to be Kafirs.”
And it does not require much imagination to judge the consequences of this doctrine when it is remembered that no two Ulema have agreed before us as to the definition of a Muslim.
Scary but it is a very well-known fact by now that ulemas of one sects can pass fatwa of death upon others with whom they disagree and they have been doing exactly so.
This has been happening in Afghanistan where talibans are waging jihad against the Northern Alliance deemed anti-Isamic State of Taliban.
Also, in Pakistan where militias have been carrying out bloody attacks against other sects with crafty support from the religious leaderships.
I have for a very long time argued on this site that Islamic interpretations like the ones discussed above by logical and wowyi depicts Fundamentalist Islam as a terrorist movement; and, terrorism of any kind - religious or political is against humanity and should be banned!
The following quotes and link to full article substantiates the fact that Ulemas (Senior Religious leaders of Islam)do engage in issuing death sentences upon muslims of other beliefs - like wowyi mentioned above; or, against apostates who speak out against Islam, Quran or the holy prophet - like Salman Rushdie, Anvar Sheikh, Tasleema Nasreen, etc.
Here’s the quote:
Shaikhul-Islaam said, “The one who abuses (the Messenger), if he is a Muslim – then he becomes a kaafir and is killed – about which there is no disagreement – and this is the position of the Four Imams and others – and as has preceded some such as Ishaaq ibn Rahawaih and others have declared that there is Ijmaabout that.” [as-Saarimul-Masloolalaa Shaatimin-Rasool]
And the committee of scholars of Saudi Arabia answered the question: ‘What is the ruling for the one who abuses the Deen if he is ignorant – does he have the excuse of ignorance or not in this case?’
The reply was: “Abusing Allaah or His words or anything from Him is kufr – and likewise abusing the Messenger, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, or his Sunnah or anything from it, or abusing the Deen of a person – if his Deen is Islaam – so if he is ignorant of that then the ruling must be explained to him – and if he does not give up his abusing then he is a kaafir and an apostate, outside Islaam – he either repents or is executed as Allaah says: ‘Say: Was it Allaah, and His Ayaat and His Messenger that you were mocking?’ Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after you had believed.’ [9:65-66] (Fatwaa no. 5213, dated 15/1/1403H.)
I just recall a book by Ibne Insha. I think it was called urdu ki aakhri kitab and had cartoons drawn to illustrate the point as well.
One cartoon had this big chuny mullah with a turban on inside a circle swinging a bit stick in circles and thus forcing people to fall out and he was saying "Chal Nikal Islam kay Daeray say"
Ibne Insha also said that in past people were admitted to the circle of islam, these days we only excluse them..
One outcome from the presence of the trio of BB, Ghazi & Irefrag is that now we know what to expect in a Islamic State of Pakistan! That is if Pakistan survives!

wowyi boy:
There are NO sects in Islaam baby. Either you are Muslim or you are not. ONLY Sunni are Muslims (Period). If you think others those who claim to be Muslims are Muslims too, than you are dead wrong. They are only Pseudo Islamic Cults. That includes Ismailis too. Wanna debate on it boy? :)
