Islamic Significance of Shooting Stars

Is there any Islamic significance behind seeing a shooting star? Especially if a person does it at a time when he/she has been praying istikhara at a regular basis? Please advise.

They are the fireballs to keep Shayateen away from skies

Re: Islamic Significance of Shooting Stars

there is no islamic significance of these . Infact i read that jinns and shaitan try to eavesdrop on angels when they are being ordered by Allah SWA for various deeds to be carried out .. its at that time that angels throw light balls at the evil forces to keep them away. Some of the jinns even bring fitna this way .. like they will hear some bits of information , exaggerate or add some on their own and then bring back to the humans .. which some of us then think "jinn told me this " etc .. you know , how people claim we have jinns in kaboo and all ..

But as such, shooting stars is not of any positive significance. it gets glamourously highlighted in the western culture hence we are made to believe its something great happening up in the skies !
