RESEARCH FELLOW – Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance
(Salary: £21.820 per annum incl. subject to experience)
Markfield Institute of Higher Education (MIHE) of the Islamic Foundation, Markfield, Leicestershire (UK) has developed as a distinguished and thriving environment of research and study. It also publishes books on Islamic Economics and an academic journal, namely Review of Islamic Economics.

MIHE of the Islamic Foundation seeks a Research Fellow from 1 March 2005 to carry out research independently in the field of Islamic economic, banking and finance to make development research accessible to a diverse international audience of development policymakers, practitioners and academics. Knowledge and understanding of Islamic economics and banking and the ability to conduct creative research are therefore essential. A background in econometrics and quantitative methods in finance, epistemology of Islamic economics and familiarity with the application of various statistical tools such as PC Gives, Microfit and WinRat etc, will also be helpful.

Candidates should have recently completed or be near to completing their PhD.
