Islamic Quotes.... Please share

I would like to open a thread where people can share the quotes they have read/heard over the time. It can be from anywhere .. for example

Put Aside Your Pride-Set Down Your Arrogance And Remember Your Grave.

or my all time fav.

**Say Your Prayers, Before Your Prayer Is Said For You **

JazakAllah !

Re: Islamic Quotes.... Please share

The sight of moving, acting, thinking and speaking person to be suddenly turned into a silent, quiet and motionless body is a better form of warning than the best lecture and the most effective sermon.

Do good before the door of repentance and the door of action are closed upon you,
before the peace, tranquillity and comfort leave you forever,
before distresses or adversities overtake you,
before troubles, anxieties and fears overcome you,
before death closes your eyes forever and
before His Wrath descends upon you.

Hazrat Ali (a.s.)

Some of my favourites...

"Before you visit Makkah it beckons to you, when you leave it behind, it calls to you forever."

"Victory comes with patience, relief comes with affliction and ease comes with hardship".

"I did not worship you for the promise of Paradise, nor the fear of Hell, but in Greatness I saw you, then I worshipped"

From the Quran...

"So lose not heart. Nor fall into despair: For ye must gain mastery if ye are true in Faith." Surah 3, v. 139

Loads more to follow.

Re: Islamic Quotes… Please share

It’s a hadeeth:

From Mu’adh ibn Anas al-Juhani:razi:: The Prophet:saw: said:

**“Whoever protects a Muslim from a hypocrite, (probably he said: )Allah:swt: will send an angel to protect his flesh from the Fire of Hell; and whoever accuses a Muslim of something, seeking to disgrace him, Allah:swt: will detain him on the bridge of Hell until he has been fully punished for what he said.” **

*[Abu Dawud: Sahih Sunan Ab iDawud (4086); Ibn Abi Dunya. See also al-Albani, Sahih al-Targhib wa’l-Tarhib.] *

I can’t even remember who the quote was from

I saw it once on some islamic forum and saved it. May have been from one of the sahabis or scholars:confused:
