I would like to find some Islamic calligraphic prints either of Quranic ayats or some islamic paintings. Can anyone help me ??? I am looking for something colorful.
Also am trying to brighten up our living room and boring leather sofas, any ideas where I can find rugs in Canada (online) for reasonable prices.
There are sooo many individuals and shops which sell islamic paintings, I'm surprised you haven't found any. Have a browse on FB/etsy and those kinda places, otherwise I know a few people who sell some paintings, I'll link them
Actually depends where you live, cos I don't know much about people selling that kinda stuff in Canada.
also, X2 had posted a link to an artist once who did beautiful calligraphy... X2, if you're reading this, please repost! i don't know where i saved it.
SGC : For rugs I would say anywhere from 50 -80 bucks is reasonable. I did go to IKEA and see their rugs I did not care for them.
We have wall to wall carpeting and I am looking for something that is lightweight, colorful and modern designs.
Faizaumer and afsoon I would like something like this but as prints so I can put them in frames. I am gonna try and check etsy and ebay ( I hope ebay canada has some)
I have a very drab leather sofa and would like to get some colored calligraphy.
check out Haji Noor Deen. He is a Chinese Muslim that does beautiful calligraphy
there was a thread here that @Niksik started about wanting Islamic Art for her bedroom. I made some suggestions there was well. Check it out.
I had bought this beautiful handmade carved in wood scenery thingy that says Mashallah. I got it from RIS. . The man is from chicago and comes to RIS every year. His pieces are beautiful.
Afshi, sadly I don't live in Toronto so I would have to look for something online or local. I think local might be hard but I'm still gonna try. I think I have seen Haji Noor Deen's work but it is expensive no ?
i dont think hajji noor deen's work is expensive. I got an oringal print (8x12) of my and hubby's name in arabic calligraphy. it was 20 bucks. I do have friends that have large canvases of his work, but not sure how much they were.
also check out Rahim's Wood Gallery on facebook. . His stuff is breathtaking. I can't wait until when our new masjid is built, I plan on buying a door from him for the masid.
If you have a drab couch, you could always paint an accent wall in a colour and apply the Islamic Decal in white or black.

Haji noor den's stuff has really gone up in price. the print I paid 300 for is almost double the price, and one is like a grand.
a way to do this without breaking the bank would be getting a few smaller prints and clustering them together.
Haji noor deen has some amazing stuff but it is all black and white. I want/need something more colorful. I did check on etsy but didn't find anything really calling out to me.
Does anyone know of artists in pakistan who could do prints that I could get framed ?? There is so much talent there I wish we had access to that talent via internet.
X2 that is exactly what I have in mind for a wall in my apt. I don't want one huge artwork rather wanna do 3 -4 artworks together and display them. But first I need to find something I like.
Afshi, thanks a lot for the links love. Can you get Haji Noor Deen to do stuff personally for you ?
Also I don't like decals. I guess I am old fashioned, I love framed art work. I have this art work done in metal that says Subhan Allahi Wa Bi Hamdi Subhan Allahil Azeem. I love that kind of stuff too.
Although I love canvases I just can't seem to see them in my own home.
