They say the time for Isha namaz ends at midnight, is the midnight as we know it in the western world or is it the midnight from what I would perceive it to be provided that these are two different eras is it more of the exact midway point between sunset and sunrise??
Re: islamic midnight
zawaal e lai'l or zawaal e nihaar...is a mid point in time of the day or night...that is, half way between sunset and sunrise. so, from 3 minutes before and 3 minutes after that mid point in time is the period called zawaal...during that period recitation of Qur'aan or offering of any salaat is prohibited. zikr-e-Ilaahii [remembrance of Allah] is, however, allowed ... 'Eshaa~ prayer is valid before this zawaal. after that tahajjud time starts and ends 15-20 minutes before dawn...[about 90 minutes before sunrise]
Re: islamic midnight
how do you calculate exact midnight, does islamic night begin after sunset or at the end of dusk, does the day begin at dawn or sunrise?
Re: islamic midnight
divide the time from sunset to sunrise by 2...like, if the sunset is at 9 pm and sunrise at 8 am then the NIGHT zawaal time would be at 2:30 am...and DAY zawaal time would be at 2:30 pm ... got it?
