I was wondering if any of you could recommend children’s books that tell the stories of the Prophets (PBUT), other moments in Islamic history, and introductions to Arabic reading/writing/speaking. I would also love to know about any CDs, DVDs, IPhone/IPad apps you would recommend.
I have purchased goodword books for lil ones and they love it. I have bought this gift box 1 and 2 for kids at masjid and they love listening to these stories in last 15 mins of Sunday school
Re: Islamic Media for children -- recommendations?
My brother is quite religious and wanted this same stuff for his kids. We live in Toronto, so there are quite a few Islamic bookstores here. See if you can find an Islamic bookstore, they always have childrens book, and DVD's. for example, whenever my brother is travelling with the kids, they put Adam's World DVD's on for the kids to watch. Adam is a puppet, and its almost like Seasame Street, they teach them different things like ABC's, and they show them Muslim countries around the world, and teach about namaaz, and fasting....and his kids love it.
They also bought a number of books from the Islamic book store, and it tells stories about muslim families, and it shows the mother in hijab, and father with a beard, and they have stories about ramadaan, and prayers, and going to the masjid. Good Luck!
