Peace All
Often it is argued or queried why did Islam say such and such but not such and such … For example in the case of protecting oneself from zina there are arguments to avoid touching members of the opposite sex in case that would lead up to zina, on the other hand today there are homosexuals who would for similar reasons commit zina so why is there no mention of same sex hugging. The reason for this is clear that Islam presents injunctions in accordance with the normal condition. There are other injunctions in place that prevent any further sinning. Hugging of same sex is considered brotherly/sisterly, but not generally considered a nearing a sexual act, because the majority of people are heterosexual and their motives will be far removed from this idea. However, the condition of being homosexual is not considered natural and being in that mindset is wrong in the first instance. Since Islam already forbids homosexuality it does not need to forbid any act of same sex hugging since the mindset has already been dealt with. However in reverse heterosexuality is promoted in Islam as a mindset, but the fitnah this mindset promotes could lead to zina if certain physical behaviour was allowed.
This is the case with all injunctions. Human meat has not been declared as haram in the Qur’an. However carrion (decaying meat of a dead creature - not hunted or killed for food) has been made haram and furthermore killing/murder has been made haram. So the eating of human flesh would not need to be declared as haram it is taken by default.
Since we are not allowed to kill a human for meat for that would be murder and we can’t eat an already dead creature because that would be carrion, and the injunction to protect the dead body from harm, hence all possible avenues for eating human flesh would not be possible. There is no reason to state another measure.
Other aspects of the sayings of the prophet (SAW):
Where we consider “Do unto your brother as you would expect him do to for you” … This would not work for a person who was a sado-masochist. Since these people would expect others to beat them and hence they would using this principle be justified in inflicting harm on others. The rule is for the majority normal people who like for nice things to be done to them so they are being told to do nice things to others.
Again since Islam prevents us from harming others it has already dealt with this minority of people in a different way.
