Islamic group demands MSNBC TV to apologize on inflammatory remarks

NEW YORK : Washington-based Islamic group said MSNBC TV net work should apologize for comments on “Imus in the Morning” that Palestinians are “stinking animals.”

The Council on American-Islamic Relations also urged the program’s host, Don Imus, be reprimanded for failing to challenge his colleagues’ inflammatory remarks.

CAIR said it received numerous complaints about the comments, and quoted a transcript of Imus’s program last Friday in which he and his on-air colleagues engaged in a discussion about live coverage of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat’s funeral.

The transcript quoted Imus as saying the Palestinians are “eating dirt and that fat pig wife of his is living in Paris.”

CAIR said a colleague responded in part, “They’re all brainwashed, though. That’s what it is. And they’re stupid, to begin with, but they’re brainwashed now. Stinking animals. They ought to drop the bomb right there, kill 'em all right now.”

What a bunch of clowns, Fox news is just as bad. I think I saw them call the guerillas killed in Fallujah the other day "terrorists"

To stay silent is to accept the remarks. Make fun of him and call them what you care to but long as we stay shy things will not change.

A remark made by Mr. Don Imus recently on his show does no service to making bridges between the cultures. With comments like these the "sheep mentality", as Mr. Imus refers to Muslims in this regard, only ensures we follow a "sheep mentality." It is only human nature that many who face such rabid remarks pull together and resist any actions, comments and sentiments with a "sheep mentality".... but survival of the self, in our eyes, is only natural.

Some, nay, many, Muslims are trying to respond to the absolute criminal acts of those who are claiming to violate human rights on a massive scale. Comments like Mr. Imus also hurt us who are on his side in principle but we do not accept his such degrading remarks that paint us with a wide brush of hatered that envelops, also, those who want to stand with him in his fight against terrorism.

I deplore such comments by Mr. Imus and request you to take a stand aginst Mr. Imus's repeated degradation of Muslims by willful derogatory remarks based on cultural and religious affiliation of Muslims.

Don’t tell me that all of Islamic press refers to Americans as God fearing model humanity. Wonder how many Matoos stand up to protest their own media people for their biased and untruthful reporting?

The western Media today has as much credibility as OJ Simpsons alibi!

Imus is an idiot. Right up there with Rush, O'Reilly, Glen Beck, Hannity, Savage, etc etc. These hate mongers exist because of the 1st amendment. Nothing these "animals" say should be taken seriously. However, everytime they take shots at Islam or the Prophet or Islamic nations they need to be condemned and their hosting stations notified about the hurt they are causing to many people.

I heard the remarks.

I was rather shocked such came out of "Imus in the morning" show.

I have never watched the entire show....

<~~~ dedicated channel surfer :)

However...was under the impression that show was not serious political talk.. more meant to be comedy show...???

I never really liked the show...and like even less today.

P.S. I would bet that "sheep mentality" also applies to some CBN right wing preacher shows..

Thank you for expressing your concerns about the comments made on "Imus in the Morning." "Imus" is produced by WFAN radio and is simulcast by MSNBC. The views expressed on the program are not those of MSNBC. Having said that, it was unfortunate that these remarks were telecast on MSNBC. We sincerely apologize to anyone who was offended by these remarks.

To you, yes. But not to the millions of their listeners. You can choose to turn them off. Millions who listen and absorb the content do not turn them off. Else we let them define who we are, what we are and what our religion is "barbaric and evil" as Rev. Graham said recently.... and he preaches to millions around the world.

We have a responsibility by Sharia to speak up against the "bad"....... atleast. We can do that sometimes. Venues are numerous to raise a voice. Even the Prophet (sws) said that the pen is mightier then sword.... wonder why?

^ i am not saying you don't have right to speak up you should speak up.

My comment was on how crap western media really is!

who cares abt these bigots..
